    Help me out here.

Joe, I'm out here... Al Walewski is currently running the Harrison matches and has replied above. Send him your address so you get on his mailing list. Let us know when your matches are. We will come up if possible. I have really enjoyed the weekends we spent up at the Soo. I would check...

    Seeking 22 Caliber BR Bullets

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Bart's .22 bullets. I've shot the .22 .100" short a long time and have always liked and trusted Bart bullets. On those rare occasions when I have shot well in big matches, it was always with Bart's 52 gr. bullets. Dick Wright

    Help me out here.

Joe, People are used to shooting at a bullseye target and a lot of them are intimidated when you tell them that we are going to shoot group. I've managed to convince a few... "Look dummy, how do you work up loads? Shooting groups, right?" We run a few group matches each year and do it the same...

.17 HMR - How often and what is the best way to clean the barrel

I bought a 17 HMR recently. Like you I was used to cleaning .22 LR's which is extremely easy. However, I decided that a .17 HMR has a copper jacketed bullet and that I better clean it exactly like I do my centerfire rifles. I did so and, so far, it has worked fine. Dick Wright

Did anyone post the results of the Nationals?

Mock, what are you doing? Don't you know that, Carmichel excepted, gun writers aren't supposed to shoot good. You are going to screw things up for a lot of guys. Don't let it happen again... I called Dave yesterday and told him. His response... "Good Lord, now I'm gonna get a twenty-four page...

    Harrison Score Match Results

I hope everybody noticed the 24X score Dudley shot. 25 X's have only been shot once on our range, that score by Larry Feusse. It was kinda fun watching... actually I could only watch cause I dropped a point on my first target. Anyway, whilst the noisy one's (read "Brian" and "Jeff") were making...

    VFS Results IBS Score Nationals

Pete, When we started shooting group in 1990 Holton was holding four matches a year with an average of 70 to 90 shooters per match. They have had as many as 150 shooters at a points match a few years ago. What I'm saying is that this wasn't their first rodeo. I haven't shot there for a few...

    VFS Results IBS Score Nationals

I wuz there... The Holton range has always reminded me of Vince Lombardi. It treats everybody the exactly same... like dirt. There was one time when the flags in front of me were blowing in three directions at once, like North, East and West. 'ow in 'ell do you shoot in that crap? This at 100...

Whether For or Against NBRSA Varmint for Score, Contact Your Region Director

In my view it would be a very big mistake if the NBRSA did not legitimize VFS. For the record... Yes, Lou... as of today I am a member of the NBRSA and will be for at least one year depending on the VFS vote at the Nats. Dick Wright

Harrison Sportsman's Club- Group Match Results

Thanks All... I don't think that a lot of people realize how much works it takes to put on a match. It takes even more plus a lot of common sense to make sure that everybody has fun and that the results are fair. You done good.:) Dick

    The IBS Scoring Reticle

Al bought one and we've been using it in Harrison this year. Being naturally suspicious of new gadgets, I checked it with plugs for a while. Stopped doing that some time ago. We like the new one and now use only it. Dick Wright

    Harrison Score Match Results

Amanda and her dad, Dan, are fun to shoot with. This was their first visit to our range and Dan says they will be back soon. Let it be noted that a certain 73 yr. old gent beat both Big Al and Super Shoot winner, Steve Robbins... shooting a .22 yet. It was a good match with perfect weather...

    .224 vs .243

Andy, You are lucky in that they run quite a few matches at your club. We have matches in Harrison which is 1-1/2 hours West of you and we normally have two matches a month during the summer. My advice... when you get your gun back shoot it in matches for a while until you learn enough to...

    Scores & Competitors

Should you happen to read the results of the Harrison matches, you will see that Big Al posts all the scores as an attachment. This usually makes me mad at Big Al since I haven't been shooting real well lately and the scores don't lie. Should you happen to wonder what blithering idiot who works...

    I'st shot flyers

The real cure is don't shoot a first shot out of clean barrel at a target you are serious about, especially with a .22LR. I go hunting with barrels that have a couple of shots thru them after they were cleaned. I always use my sighter target before I go to the record target in benchrest...
