    Let's talk Air Strippers

Hi Pete & AZ Agreed a stripper can be beneficial as a muzzle weight to tune the harmonics, but if it wasn't for a PCP's noticeable muzzle flip when it has no additional moderator or stripper I wouldn't use one just as a tuner, as I have found that some days its on, some days it is off (thats...

    Let's talk Air Strippers

Hi Pete, there is not a lot of detailed research that I know of that deals with air strippers for air rifles. I tend to look at the 'muzzle break' comparison's that you see on Youtube using full bore rifles, these basic experiments show that their is a definite effect on the movement of the...

Thanks Dave, glad you think so, I am blessed to have a world class stock maker live near me who works in Cheltenham, UK. He made it for my TM1000 which I highly rate as an air rifle which brings the best out of a joint UK/USA collaboration. Below is another photo which shows me using it in a...

    Buying pellets by lot number

Here in the uk we can generally buy our jsb ammo by batch numbers, but generally only when you are buying a ten tin sleeve or more at a time. For example, look at inershoots sight here: http://www.intershoot.co.uk/acatalog/Air_Pellets.html I shoot various air rifle/pistol disciplines at...

Optics section on the Benchrest Central forum?

Would the moderators consider adding a specific optics section on the forum? From my view across the pond you guys have the best choice of optics anywhere in the world. Every rifle i own has an American scope on it, vortex, leupold, weaver etc, and if there is one thing that unifies alot of...

Lothar Walther 12 groove, slow twist & regular twist polygon barrels

Some good info here, thanks. I am going through a phase of not touching my barrel, letting it lead up and then letting it lead up some more on my sub 12ft lb .177 pcp. Bearing in mind there is only lead in our ammunition, no wax or igniting compound etc etc. I am aware though the crown can...

Wild River Air Rifle - USARB Report Indoor January 22, 2014

Great shooting with the TM1000 Ron. I got an 'indoors' personal best with mine the other week - 250 21x but to get those results on three strait cards is some shooting. Well done. Tony

Beggining to set-up for serious BR.

Hi Dwight, the most important thing is the accuracy of your rifle and certainly doesn't sound like you have basic equipment there, the Rapid Air Weapons are great rifles. Next is a decent bench rest scope, a Weaver T36 is a good place to start and plenty for sale on the classifieds. I cant...

    Equipment sharing

Well, I have bought and sold so many air rifles over the last few years that it feels like I am sharing when I go to my local range. I have to remind myself that they are not mine now, and I didn't loan them out :D Tony

    Looking for pellets

Yes, very much a sub 12 ft/lb pellet, and dont work well outside for us over here. Indoors is where they demonstrate their accuracy. Interesting though, because we are working with a different ammo that gives good results outdoors but they dont shoot at all well indoors. How does that work? Tony

    Looking for pellets

coincidence or what? Dan I would like to help but always on the look out for these myself: I only have a few tins left, batch number is the same, JSB Exact Express, but mine is a blue tin. The batch is about 3 years old I believe. Shows they are somewhat special if they are so sought after...

    One Step Closer

Congratulations Joe, that is a fantastic score for inside, let alone outside. This has pushed the envelpope on again as to what an air rifle can achieve. I would be interested in what kit was used in terms of power & caliber. Cheers Tony

Sufficient magnification for a BR 25m air rifle?

I'm with Bill here, sometimes too much mag gives you too much information, theres alot to be said in just 'point and shoot' especially when shooting outside where the conditions are constantly changing. With the higher mags it gives you too much time to contemplate, 36x for me is the upper...
