    I need a little help................................

An inexpensive temporary answer might be the use of some of Remington's Managed Recoil ammunition. Made just for your purpose.

D.I. Products makes a two-piece set of adapters to adapt the 16mm groove to a Weaver base. Loonk under "CZ" on their website. Then, get a set of Burris Signature Zee rings with the offset adapters. Done. http://www.diproductsinc.com/

    .223 or 6BR?

I presently own and am very happy with a 2009 Savage LRPV (RBLP) single shot in caliber .204 Ruger. Out to 200m/yards it is more accurate than I could have ever hoped (3/8-1/2 MOA) . At 300 yards or so it's inability to buck the wind (and/or my poor skills at reading it) start to take their toll...

Have you guys tried going over to RFC and PM'ing "tenspot"?; I think he has a bunch of them for sale very reasonably.

Have to disagree. I own both and the SIIB is well worth the price difference.

    Burris Signature Zee Rings

There is a fellow over at RFC named TenSpot who used to sell hex-head replacements for the slotted head factory screws. He may still.

    Sightron 36X???

Big Sky version (I agree it is much better; I've owned both) will have catalog number SIIB3642BRD, not SII3642BRD.

    Burris signature rings

Actually, Beau, it is the SIGNATURE rings that you speak of. Burris makes "Zee" rings (for Weaver bases) and "Signature" rings (with the polymer inserts). "Signature Zee" rings have both.

    Ruger VTT in .223

Buddy has a Ruger 77 VTT (grey barrel, brown laminate) Varmint rifle in .223 Remington. What used to seem to be a very accurate rifle doesn't anymore - maybe his 40X in .243 has something to do with it..... Anyway, he likes the rifle overall but would like to shoot heavier bullets at longer -...

    Compact Rifle Scopes?

Bushnell 4200 4-16 40mm has 6.25" of mounting space. Most I have found in that range of scope.

    Scopes used (magnification) in benchrest

Hi, Mitch: You did not need to clarify my point, sir. My point was already clear: ALL of the measurements I gave in my post are TOTAL measurements. Again, on an apples /apples basis: Mueller: 40" Burris: 22" (39" on their 50mm)...

    Scopes used (magnification) in benchrest

Shadowchaser: I note with interest your comment about the new Mueller 8-32X, 44mm SF scope; insofar as you feel it has a "...limited range of.... adjustment....". With respect, and not being confrontational, I suggest that you check the published statistics. That new Mueller has 40" of...

Savage 12 in 6mm Norma BR

Twist Savage also, I believe, offers versions of the rifle in either 1 in 8 or 1 in 12 twist. Not every port/magazine arrangement is available in both twists. Be careful and make sure you get what you really want/need. A consumer price for any new LVRP in the neighborhood of $800.00 USD is a...
