Recycled Benchrest Barrel for Ruger Precision Rifle?

They use a standard ar15 for arm and barrel nut. I turned one into a prone rifle for a friend with a compass lake match rifle forend. When installing it I looked at the barrel, the "shoulder" could easily be made like an ar 15 barrel extension that threads onto the end of the barrel like a bushing.

reccomended singlre to three phase solid state converters.

a 3 hp vfd is cheaper and gives you more true HP than a static converter. About $200. You don't have to use it to vary the speed, but having that option is nice. If its just a bad bearing, changing the bearings in a three phase motor is pretty easy as long as nothing screwed up.

    Bandsaw blades

If your using one of the little 4x6 HF saws, I never could get a blade to last period, bi metal or whatnot. THE BI metals did last longer but still not great. I think the problem was that the little saws flex to much and start breaking teeth. Now I will say that I also was cutting rusty angle...

    Old benchrest rifle Value

Found an old Benchrest rig for sale locally with a 15 x 2"Unertl Scope. Gun is a sleeved Remington xp100/600/660 action in a Shilen sleeve. Has a stainless barrel and is in .222.5 caliber. Stock is an early laminate made of three pieces of wood as opposed to the modern "plywood" thin layers of...

    VFD question

Yes, my teco Westinghouse vfd states that you add up all the hp for all the motors and that is the size vfd you need. I was running a surface grinder with a 1 hpspindle motor and a 1hp hydraulic motor with a 1 hp vfd, ran ok but would throw an overload fault on the vfd. Switched to a 2 hp vfd an...

Bolt cuts on Ruger Precision Rifle

I messed around recently with one of these that belongs to a friend of mine. We are both primarily service rifle shooters but both shoot prone and he shoots FTR as well which is what he bought the 308 version for. THe first thing we noticed was that the trigger, while light, had a horrible...

    Rimfire Chamber Burrs

POlish them out with some jb bore paste or isso metal polish on a patch on a tight fitting brush. Your smith should have done that in the first place. I only do it on rimfires, centerfires shoot them out just fine, but that small lead bullet doesnt seem to.

    M16 extractor on .223 boltface 722

Thanks, I wonder why ptg does not offer that option for 223 boltfaces for there new bolts , but offers it for sako extractors, especially since the m16 type extractor is considered safer

    M16 extractor on .223 boltface 722

I have a 722 in 222 that I popped a few primers on. Eroding the boltface. I'm going to bush the boltface and while I was at it install a m16 or mini 16 extractor. However looking around on ptgs web page I see they offer replacement bolts for the 722, but only with a standard remington extractor...

    Palma?

Mine shoots the Nosler and sierra 155's 2155 fine, but the 2156 looks like a shotgun pattern. It also shoots the nosler/sierra 168 well as it does the 175's. A buddy shot it at teh Navy Matches this year with issued LR ammo (175 Lake city match) at 1000yds and was pleased with its performance.

Is this brass any good for reloading?

Does it say Match on the headstamp? Does it have a cannalure about .25 of an inch from the rim? If so its lake city match brass. Its good brass in terms of it lasts a long time, is thick, and is not crimped. If its just lc 93, then its more than likely just ball brass. Now heres the thing, the...
