    Is benchrest dying?

Talk to the owners of amusement parks, cottage rentals, and all extra curricular activities in the last 5 years. Things according to wall street journal are coming back, slowly. If you have an average income, and an extra grand pops up...you going to go on a weekend that excludes most of the...

We need to fix this - TOGETHER!

Range officer goes around collecting the bolts, put them in large box, give them a shake and put a sign up "heres your bolts" Same collects them, 5.00 fine to get them back each time. Bright orange "I'm a dumbass" hat for the rest of the match? :D

    Gunmithing

Your library is a great place to start. There, much to my surprise, were a dozen or so books on the subject. I'd give serious thought to specializing in one area. The ability to either make or rework an action, barrel it, install sights/ribs etc professionally takes some time, Blueing? Case...

    Walnut Source?

I need a source, west coast shipping is nearly 15.00 (bulk) and up to 25.00 for singles! I'd like to find an Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, PA, KY mill that supplies either correctly kiln dried, or air dried boards- 2.5" thick and whatever x whatever size. thanks p.s. I know a bunch of blank...

which barrel twist for 40/50 grain subsonic?

JDJones told me he prefers to use the fastest twists available for subsonics- going against thinking i.e. a 40 grain .223 would be a 14 or 12 twist, he suggested going to a 9 or a 7 just the .02 I got from someone else, and he seems to know his beans.

Bolt takes out row of teeth

Exactly WHY I only shoot LH action firearms. I'm even a bit squirrely using autoloaders such as anything military or 10/22. Man, hope that guy is ok CWG

    Stevens Falling Block .22lr

Interesting rig. I'd be curious if that pistol grip was factory or modified. Stevens DID offer a number of variations. I've seen some that looked as if they had to be cobbled, but had the letter that came with the original purchase order! nevertheless, cool rig.

    Long Range factory Rifle

A grand? Buy a used bench gun unless you want to shoot factory class of some kind. I've seen bench guns in that zone that were ready to go, add scope. Pic one in 6, 6.5, 30 cal and its fairly cheap to have a good smithy deepen it to whatever hawground you want.

Do suplus Mausers need heat treatment?

Unchopped up mausers are climbing in both collectability and price. I cant help but imagine Mausers made from 43 to 45 were very scary. Slave labor, sabatoge, rushed production, enough to make me real leary of any in that year range- as mentioned, I'd send it off for testing and heat...
