    Grizzly DRO for the G4003G

I have the Sino sds2-2L on my lathe. It's new, and I can't comment on it's quality or durability yet. However, one function that I think is going to be quite time saving and convenient, is if you wish to set up to cut a taper ( I have attachment). I haven't used this function yet, except to...

    Muzzle Flush System

Rustystud, Thanks for sharing your process with us. A couple of questions; Does the rustlick need to be diluted? I read a post somewhere where a fellow used to dilute, but was concerned about lubricity at the tool surface, so he quit diluting, and figured he was better off. What's your...

    Mounting a scope

Worker I was speaking of level, level, level. I purchased them, after watching the scope mounting video. I figured, these must be alright. They weren't.

    Mounting a scope

Don't waste your money. They don't indicate level. Some of the things we purchase today can go right into the circular file when you take delivery. Some can be made to work properly, but why should we have to work on them, when the price you pay should correlate with it working properly?

42 yards, water test, stopped muzzle

Hydroscopy and constituents In the wikipedia article, hydroscopy is mentioned. Hygroscopy is the ability of a substance to attract water molecules from the surrounding environment through either absorption or adsorption. Perhaps the constituents of the residue produced from the burning of the...

    Dennis Tinkham Update

6mmbr bulletin 6mmbr is currently promoting the drop rods in the daily bulletin. I was at the skeet range one day, when a shooter blew up one of his barrels on an over and under shotgun. Problem - stuck wad. He knew he had a stuck wad. But decided to continue the round, shooting singles...

    Minimum age for unsupervised hunting/licensing?

In a recreational area that I hunt, there are equine (horse) riders sharing the same woods, on horse trails. Riders are encouraged to wear blaze orange after Sept 15, the start of small game season. Some riders have even been known to put blaze orange on their horses, to help prevent a mishap...

    help! computer problem with gunbroker.com

Scott, I have a comcast account using one of their cable modems. If your modem is somewhat similar to mine, perhaps this will work. On the back of my modem, there is a very small hole. You have to look hard to find it. If you find a small hole, and especially if it says reset near it in...

    Guns in Texas Schools....

web article I read an article a few days ago on this, if I remember correctly, there was concern about their close proximity to a highway, so I suppose vulnerability, like, enter, hit, and run is on their minds. And also, there was mention of specialized training, I think so that they're all...

    "Three Rings of Steel" Question/Discussion

I was thinking more along the lines of smiths and members responding with known documented cases of mishaps associated with the Mauser action. As I do not have disposable income, it would preclude me from doing as you have suggested. As I will be accurizing and sporterizing a 1937 Mauser over...

    "Three Rings of Steel" Question/Discussion

Reading this thread has caused me to wonder how a m98 Mauser action would compare in gas and debris blowback with similarly overpressured rounds. If not going too far off the topic, it would be good to know the m98 faults. Any input?

    Extractor problem

With a round fed by hand on Mauser action, it is possible to squeeze the extractor (about midway) in towards the bolt while camming the bolt closed on the round, and the extractor will jump over the base of the cartridge, and you're good to go. However, I don't know if this will work on this...

    Remington M700 trigger

I typed in "adjust trigger remington 700" on a web search and it brought back numerous sites. I prefer the Jewell trigger, if wishing a light pull. For safety reasons.

    Full length sizing

I have m700 Sendero in 300WM. Factory chamber. I used to neck size only to keep and enlarged portion of the neck in place for better cartridge alignment for the bullet to be better centered with the bore. It helped accuracy considerably. However, bolt closure using this method would become...

    Birmingham 12x36 lathe

Jim, I recently took delivery of the Precision Mathews 14x40 (PM1440) lathe purchased from Quality Machine Tools in Pittsburgh. It has the collet closer and taper attachment standard, 3 and 4 jaw, and I purchased the DRO with it. A QCTP was included free at the time. I especially like the...
