Ferdinand Porsche said one day something sounding like "Racing against one-self is the only race that never ends". Aside from money, BR requests attention and thouroughness on a long period. THIS they don't want anymore. That's not FUN.

A different method of mounting Rail Gun barreled action.

stress/strain on 1.06 dia Seeing your sketch, there will be quite a torque applied on the 1.06 "ring" due to barrel weight being full forward. That's a complete different storry than the usual barrel block. Have you run some stress calculation and compare from what you get from tension at...

    powder scales question

Bench Rest is some kind of religion where "reducing the variations" is the main cult. For some, that is relaxing the brain once behind the gun watching the windflags. I have no variation anymore, I should shot well. Some Mantra/Zen in the BR game. Reducing process variations is the creed of...

    Vibrating the brass

Started reloading a 30-30Win in '79 with Lyman 310. Worked in an ammo plant from 89 to 92 (where I got my scar). We made the brass shiny using cyanide salts bathes as a final brass case manufacturing operation, before priming stations and move to loading area. That was an approx 30 meters long...

    making .30 118/124gr bullets on 1" J4 - ram stroke at core seating ??

Process control does not come from "feels". Ask Motorola and 6Sigma. If a process result is not in line with the measurement of a process variable change, then the choosen variable most probably is not the right one.

    Vibrating the brass

I know a guy who let his 30x44 seat on the top of the freezer overnight. Anyway, beware of : - static electricity - peeling flame retardant off on double based powders - breaking powder granules and therefore change powder burning rate by increasing flame surface. I once mixed a loaded...
