Looking for opinions on what to order. Shell construction Carbon or fiberglass? Fill:EDGE or Ehanced EDGE? Pillars , go with their 1/2" or they will drill to spec and go with 5/8 front and 9/16 rear?

Action is Borden BRM with the .250 recoil lug. Barrel is 23" from the recoil lug is 1.250 at the action and 1.00 at muzzle. Chambered in 30BR.

Not stuck in a weight class . I shoot in a couple of local clubs that have an open class 100yd for score matches once a month at each club.

Thanks

I know a gentleman here shooting LV/HV with a verrrrrryyyyy old McMillan Edge stock and still winning today in National and European matches. The first McM Edge model offered to market. It was advertised in PS at that time.

With regards to recoil lug, as we have few BR competitors in France, HBR and VFS get shot in the same matches. We, Rem 700/HBR shooters, very often kick the ass of many Stolle Kodiak and 6PPC Panda fitted with x45 scopes. VFS scoring is not better than HBR scoring.

Above mentioned Gentleman shots HBR with a McMillan stainless Rem700 clone, with recoil lug, and had won many many many many times.

A properly pilar bedded stock with a recoil lug will

shoot with any rifle. Look at the hunter benchrest scores on the IBS and NBRSA websites.
