A question on seating depth for varmint rifles.

i guess i dont quite get where your jumping from how far to seat the bullets, and then making it into a comparison with concentricity!!?!?!? for what its worth, i have varmint guns where i jam them hard into the lands, and some that i seat way off. it depends on the rifle, and load.

Drilling out rifling in a 22 RF barrel

i would suggest to them to try all available types of 22shot, as some rifled barrels will do fairly well with it. smooth bore, or rifled shot from a 22lr isnt very effective even on small creatures at much more than 10yds. alternately, just recommend they use the .410 with the smallest shot they...

    eley/lapua why eley works

Colour cased actions, good or bad idea?

i will disagree with what kind of accuracy you can obtain from a mauser action, not too hard to get way better than 3/4" from one. by the same token, dont expect bugholes from one either.

    trick out 10-22

if your seriously chasing the accuracy of a 10/22, where you were concerned about cutting a minimum chamber, what you really want to look at is the headspace dimensions of the bolt face.

    trick out 10-22

your not going to run into a feeding problem. if you end up with too short of a chamber, you risk an out of battery discharge. the bentz, is the match semi auto chambering.

Colour cased actions, good or bad idea?

while a 98 mauser may not make a great BR rifle, they do a fine job as a hunting rifle, and can produce some surprising accuracy(despite all the percieved shortcomings).

    Sleeved Actions/Bolts

a sleeved action= take a round reciever like a remmy 700, and glue a larger diameter tube over the outside of it. this is to give the action more rigidity, and more bedding contact. bolts are bushed, which tightens up the tolerances between the bolt and raceway.

    I need a little help................................

i agree with the last couple of posts, i would not opt to put a brake on a youngsters rifle.
