i agree with butch. we strive very hard not to cause damage to a good barrel by dragging abrasive through it on our cleaning rods, and i see it as immensley counter productive to intentionally fire abrasives through a good barrel.

the TRP-3 comes bedded from the factory, and they do a very good job. i wish i would have got in on one of the wood stocked ones, but i got #31 of the green ones, and personally am not a fan of the color! lol oh, and just to clear up, you can certainly get the factory trigger on the TRP-3 well...

its been mentioned before, but has no moderator checked the mauser 98 help thread. many posters on that thread have spam in their signature line.

if it were mine, i would be looking at something in the 4-12X or 4-16X.

i cant comment on making a 6mmBR feed from a standard mauser, but the magazine length overall shouldnt be a big issue. you most likely wont even need to consider making mag spacers as the round isnt going to generate a whole bunch of recoil. not exactly the same, but a whole bunch of 22-250's...

i agree, LC match brass would have never had a crimped primer pocket. people will pay for good condition LC brass though.

all of my 1-9" .223's love 45-55grn bullets, so making an ussumption with the fireball being slightly slower i cannot see the 1-9" hurting you in the least bit. i would always choose a slightly faster twist than needed, than to choose one that is slightly to slow.

2 things and only 2 things cause a slam fire, and thats #1 a firing pin stuck in the forward position, and #2 a high primer. a homesmithed/hacked trigger dropping the hammer is not a slam fire. in proper working order none of these rifles will slamfire when fed quality ammo. doesnt matter if...

as long as the reciever safety bridge in the m14/m1a is in spec, its firing pin can not touch the primer until the bolt is in battery either! the second reason is applicable to the AR family of rifles also.

for a bone stock standard M1A, load for magazine length, anything else wont net you much in terms of accurcay gains. for a supermatch or built up rifle, not using the magazine, you can seat further out, but you still do not want to seat the bullet into the lands.

almost certainly a 1-14" twist rate.

for a hunting rifle, particularily for someone who isnt an accuracy whacko ( LOL ), stick with the standard dimension reamer.
