    Cataract surgery

I appreciate the response. It's my right eye and I am right handed. Have an ARA match tomorrow and plan on using my left eye to get lined up. Will then shoot heads up. Just have to deal with it till I can have the surgery.

    Cataract surgery

Question for the rimfire benchrest shooters who have had cataracts removed. Could you see much better after the surgery? If you wore glasses before did you still need them? Did it help your shooting? About to have it done and was wondering what others have experienced. Thanks for your time.

Mr. Ezell gave you some good advice. He also makes some of the best wind flags on the market.

    Firing pin energy vs accuracy

Tuners Mr. Tim. I definitely am not one of the top shooters. What I have observed from many of the top shooters is that they come to the line with several different lots of ammo. They may not touch the tuner, but they keep changing ammo until they find something that works with their tune on...

    22rf ammo and headspace

Top grade ammo has less variance. With that said I do know a few that check overall length and concentricity.

    50 yd BR targets

Seems like a lot of people are taking this way too far. He said the one he used did not have the copyright on it. Even offered to post a picture of the one he used that didn't have it and he was just trying to help a fellow shooter. What I fail to understand is how any of this helps to get this...

    40XB questions

In my experience nothing needs to be done to the 2500X action. It's ready to go. As to barrel contours, that's a matter of personal preference unless you are trying to make a certain weight class.

    Yet Another Chamber Cleaning Question

Thanks Mr Wilbur. I don't reverse them but was just wondering what the thought process was about reversing them. I personally only use one a couple of times, then dispose of them.

    Yet Another Chamber Cleaning Question

Just asking. Why should you not reverse the bronze brush while cleaning your barrel? As bronze is much softer than stainless steel what is the thought behind not reversing direction? I understand you would not want to pull it back into the chamber area as it would deposit some crud.

    Benchmark 2 groove

Mr. Dave. Thanks for your response. It does make me feel better that you have shot yours in some cooler weather and it still performed well. I live in Texas and compete in Arkansas and Louisiana. Temperature below 30 - 40. degrees when shooting are rare.

    Benchmark 2 groove

Mr Gordon or Mr Jim, does the 2 groove have any issues shooting in cooler temperatures?

    Benchmark 2 groove

Any opinions on a benchmark reverse taper 2 groove barrel. Have a friend with one that shoots very well. Just wondering what the general opinion is on them.

    Railguns

Mr. Gene that is a very interesting rail gun. I have a friend from Nevada coming to shoot in the Arizona state match. He is telling me that the guy to beat shoots a rail gun. I have a feeling he is referring to you.

    barrel makers for 22 rimfire

Several different manufacturer's make quality barrels. Shilen, Muller, Douglas, Broughton, and many others. Check with your gunsmith and see what he prefers. If you are asking about a gunsmith once again there are many. Check the equipment list from some of the ARA matches. Then call and talk to...

    Railguns

Mr. Wilber I understand. I recently purchased a Cliff Arnold rest. It is a work of art. Would also like to say Mr Arnold was great to deal with.

    Railguns

No no Mr Jerry. You got it wrong. I have two benchrest rifles. I didn't realize the inherent problems with using a rimfire cartridge in a railgun. I was just wondering. Thanks for the explanation.
