    6 ackley

Sierra has 6 Rem Ackley data for their 107 HPBT Match bullet. I would call their tech line and ask how much you should back the charges off for the extra weight of the 115. They list 6 different powders that should give you a good starting point. I'd also pre-measure the bearing surface length...

    Long Range Hunter

I don't know if you'd be interested in this 300 Win Mag or not. Seems like a decent deal though. https://www.cdnnsports.com/browning-abolt-iii-composite-stalker-300wm.html?

    Christmas in September

So what caliber are you putting on it Jackie? Looks like the start of a 6BR.

    Polishing cleaning rod

All the way down to a spit shine from what I've heard. :D

    2nd node

Is there a set range to seating depth where you typically pick up the 2nd node? I'm working with a live varmint rifle where jam is where it likes to shoot, but my concern is having to unload if I don't get the shot and having the bullet stick in the barrel in the field. I've been back off the...

    Bedding actions with recoil slots

No. It is a Stiller P1000.

    Bedding actions with recoil slots

looks like this....not a protrusion on the action. The recess is in the action.

    Bedding actions with recoil slots

When you bed an action that recoil slots milled in the bottom of the action, do you put a layer of tape on the bottom and rear of the slot for some clearance or just bed it like it is?

Thought provokng video on chamber to bore runout...reactions?

I've had up to 5 barrels made by the same guy, with the same reamer to essentially the same headspace AND THE ROUNDS DON'T INTERCHANGE. SAME reamer SAME gunsmith SAME headspace And no joy in Muddville Kinda sounds like some other type of problem was going on there, but whatever works for...

Thought provokng video on chamber to bore runout...reactions?

If the pilot isn't there to follow the bore and keep it in alignment, then what is it there for, IYO? If the reamers will follow the bore and keep in alignment, why is that a problem?

Thought provokng video on chamber to bore runout...reactions?

So I guess the question is....won't a roughing reamer follow the bore exactly as well as the finish reamer will follow the rougher?

    270 accuracy?

Another way to think....just saying....If someone was interested in building a rifle like a 270 or something with a capacity like a 270, maybe they should look at a 280 Rem. Bullet selection is much greater for quality bullets with a larger span of weights available, Lapua makes 30-06 brass that...

Thought provokng video on chamber to bore runout...reactions?

With all of these chambering threads, I don't think I have ever seen one that anyone uses a roughing reamer to establish the chamber from the beginning without drilling or pre-boring and then finish ream with their finisher. Given that the pilot has a max .0002 clearance at the throat area...

6BR, 70 grainers, Best powder choice?

I'm in the process of building a 6BR with an 8 twist (just in case I decide to go heavier) to shoot 70 grainers as a live varmint rig. If anyone has played with this combination and can give a powder recommendation of what to start with, I'd appreciate it. Right now the powders I have to choose...

    6 degree lead

hmmm I learn new stuff all the time. Thanks. Does anyone use that 6* lead any more?

    Would this compromise accuracy?

Boyd, IMO.....not anymore then having a lug between the 2 surfaces.

    6 degree lead

I was just looking at a 6BR reamer on Grizzly Industrial. According to the drawing they have, the reamer has a 3* per side throat angle. Can anyone tell me why? I was under the assumption that 1.5* per side was standard and proven on bench rest cartridges. The 6 Dasher and 6PPC...

What rifle for a 12 year old for deer?

I'd look for a used Stevens in a 243Win. Won't break the bank and you might even get some optics with it. Actually there is one on Gun Broker up for bid right now... And another in 7mm-08 if you think he could handle that.
