Ultimate front spider.

What is the purpose of the nuts?

just to help lock them in place probably not necessary but maybe just psychological.
I usually use two on each and just finger tight.
Also can make very small adjustments by tightening them slitely more on initial dial in.

Sounds good...thanks. I never saw one that came plain like that...usually fully machined.

It was fully machined or had the the screw holes in it and I
turned it down just past them. And skim cut each face surface, diameters and bore.

Cloud,

Is the picture of a barrel set-up to chamber, or is it just staged for the photo?

Justin

Yes it's being set up for chamber and thread for a savage action. In this setup I'm turning the shank down close to 1.0625 them I'll move up closer for the finish diameter and chamber and thread.

Cloud,

Got it. I think your headstock needs oil!

Thanks it has a very light blue synthetic oil in it with moly.
Just a little full so it is right above the high mark when runing.
