What action configuration is preferred for F Unlimited

From a Lefty SGS Been shooting FC Open since ‘98, I am left-handed. Started with a L bolt, R port because the action was from my MS days. It was natural to roll the rifle over while standing and could look in the loading port. At any rate it has worked well in 4 different actions/rifles...

What is the appeal of F Class?

As Lou wrote “All the people are great. And they mark every shot you make.” I shot a bit of LR BR back when and even set a 5-shot NBRSA 1k record in 1999. Have also shot NMC, Palma, 3 Postion, air rifle and MS, plus various shotgun disciplines. In 1999 I switched from Palma to FC and haven’t...

    Newbie with Scope Question

Testshoot, I’ve shot F-class for 19 years. My recommendation is if you are going to shoot F-Class with the scope you are going to buy then get SFP plane reticle with MOA. I shoot a 15-55x scope and normally shoot at 45-55x. Use the lines on the target to hold off for windage. Avoid using...

advice for a new F class shooter

With the 6.5/284 or the .284 win you would have to shoot in F-Open class which has a 10kg/22 lb limit. The 18.18 lb limit is for the F/TR class which is limited to .308 Win or .223 Rem calibers. So you are good to go as is. I would try the 6.5/284 first as is before investing in a new barrel...

rifle twisting in the front rest/bags

Jay, Sooner or later you will get in trouble breaking or bending the rules. The fix to a large degree is to build up the sides of your FC stock so they are perpendicular to the bottom of the forend. This gives more contact to the bag sides and still allows the rifle to be lifted straight up...

Advice on front rest for F Class Open / Benchrest shooting

Bob, I try to not to comment on things I have no knowledge of and I have no way of knowing what Shiraz used in Canada. You make a great rest. I prefer a joy stick rest. To each his own!

Advice on front rest for F Class Open / Benchrest shooting

Sarah, I too have used a number of rests for F-Class including 3 other joy-stick rests. My vote goes to the Seb Neo. They are head and shoulders above all the rest (pun not intended). One of the things often over looked on an F-Class rest is the ability to adjust the rest up and down a large...

    "Benchrest" Influence in F-Class

Perhaps I was a bit quick on the trigger, but by the same token I wish people would not claim a flat firing point is a table. The table rule was put in the book because certain people were carrying 4'x8' sheets of plywood to the firing line. It is sometimes hard to get a good firing point. I...
