On page three of this thread L. Costa said that he sometimes got a little under an hour on the flags with some barrels. Could someone please explain what he meant by that?

Does anyone know if Howa intended for their Mini Action to cock on close something like .050 and have in excess of .300 firing pin fall. This is my first Howa, and would have to say it is a very well machined action that is extremely straight and true.

A lot of us thread with HSS tooling that is bought from the Woerner Tool Company (SP ?). This tooling uses HSS inserts that are very sharp and will allow you to thread at slower speeds than you need to run carbide. I use full profile carbide tooling also that is very good but for general work...

Sorry Jackie but a 6.5X284 doesn't work well at all in a short action, it needs a long magazine box to shine.

I shot 29.9 of N133 at the nationals and those cases are fine, also tried that upper node but it didn't work in my rifle so I didn't find out if multiple firings would loosen the primers. Paul

If you can beat the out of town pros, it's more prestigious. Unless of course you shoot at Lubbock, where the locals are as tough or tougher than all the out of towners.

I have an old Polar action on a Hasecuster Rail that is sloppy at the back, about .004 clearance. It will really shoot. Makes me wonder if we haven't made a lot out of something for nothing. I can't say I like it but it doesn't appear to hurt.

Mike, the LT 32 is a little heavier, not much. I've been told that 32 is 30 with retarder on it.
