Well...we'd better ban swimming pools, cars, trucks, bicycles, roller skates/blades, footballs, basketballs...etc...etc...A kid child was killed the other day on a play ground by a football hitting him in the throat, ban the ball and the shoes that kicked it I say. Maybe even the socks. They all kill more than a 50cal. When we bend over and let the libs and press give it to us....they'll never stop. It becomes a BOHICA fest. What needs to be done is education in the dangers of these weapons not the removal of weapons. The 2nd admendment was specifically written to protect the private owenrship of military weapons....not hunting firearms. Plus...we may be needing them soon.

small Airplane crashes. There are so few of them they are sensational. Is it any worse to shoot someone than it is to crash into them with a small Aircraft? It is publically acceptable that such accidents , although sensational, have not risen to the level of banning small airplanes. I don't think anyone ever intentionally kills another with an Aircraft but it happens. Same can be said for Motorcycles or Four Wheelers, Snowmobiles, folks shooting friends with shotguns while bird hunting, etc etc. None of these things are ever brought forward. When "Stuff" happens, it happens. We are sorry but it happens. Certainly life does not depend on anyone using any of the items I mentioned above but society accepts them as being legit and accepts the accidents that come as a result of using them; notice I haven't brought up Automobiles or Boats yet, aye? Why are 50 BMG''s any different?

I first posted this thread not to support anyone who wants to ban any firearm but to make us who have a say in the use of rifle ranges to be aware that this can happen.

We know we can never be too careful with our firearms. These things that we use for pushing the edges of accuracy will most defiantly cause great harm if used the wrong way.

There is nothing that can cause the closure of a range faster.
