They're sitting here typing on the computer while Rome burns...
PURE FICTION. What FDR started was a slippery slope to Socialism. Teddy was not much better. James
Sounds like somebody voted and/or supported the wrong person into office and now are trying to justify things. Maybe they got a little bit too much of a so-called good thing when they found out they were paying for it.
I think you misunderstood the message. Who lit the fire in Rome and who is now adding fuel to keep it going?
It's important to know the answer to that question.
I don't believe you know who lit the fire which destroyed Rome, nor the political reasons for it, nor the political fallout after......nor even who benefited from it.
After 6 years you light your own fire. You can reach back and pull the other guy in, but you know it's wrong.
Can you even imagine what kind of retirement and health plan you could have if you had all the money that the government took from you to fund social security and medicare? I sure would have liked to opt out and controlled my own money, I sure wouldn't be working now thats for sure.
Actually, I think I do understand pretty well why Rome is burning, how it started, whose interests have been hurt and who benefited from the blaze--I'm a pretty good arson investigator and the Rome fire is the biggest case of arson in recent times.
As usual, "believe" is the key word in your statement. Every time you respond, your belief system dictates the content of your thoughts. Don't misunderstand--we all operate within the confines of our own unique belief system. But unlike mine, part of your belief system is that only Al knows the "truth" and Al's beliefs are more important than others--just like his opinions.
Let's face the facts--no matter what I say you feel the need to marginalize my comments, to disrespect me, really. So it's a waste of my time to explain anything to you. And so I won't.
LOL indeed!!
At my age of 74, I have lived under the administrations of a lot of Presidents. I have made a light study of all the Presidents and I can say that nearly all of them have done the best they could for the people in this country.
One thing is for sure. We, the people, get the President we vote for.
Concho Bill
I am not sure about that. I heard that George Sartious or however you spell it owns and built the voting machines. MattAt my age of 74, I have lived under the administrations of a lot of Presidents. And we can learn from history.
Not if we view history through the distorted lens of a belief system skewed by partisan biases. Or if we modify the facts to conform to our belief system.
Far too many "historians" these days ignore history and substitute their own opinions for historical facts.
