Lapua 222 Brass question
Adam,
That`s great news to all of us that own rifles, chambered for cartridges that utilize 222 Rem. brass. As I stated earlier, I won`t even build a rifle unless it can use Lapua brass as the parent case. I`m sure there are lots of shooters who feel the same way,and have the same loyalty that I do to your company`s brass & other product line. While the 222 Rem. may not be growing in popularity as other calibers, I do appreciate that Lapua is willing to make an investment in starting production of this brass cartridge. It`s very easy to load a standard 222 Remington round, and the inherint accuracy it delievers is astounding, with very little tuning. The 6 PPC has replaced the 222 rem. as the more popular round used in Benchrest competition, however it takes more work & time to make the brass for it, from 220 Russian cases. Hopefully the trend in popularity will reverse for the casual shooters out there who are looking for accuracy without the work associated with the 6 PPC. There are lots of those not engaged in Benchrest competition, but are pursuing ways to achieve accuracy, in a more "Off the Shelf" atmosphere. For those looking at "Extreme Accuracy" with less investment in time & money, the Deuce is hard to beat. Having the best quality brass is an important part of accuracy chain, and the 45-50 loadings I got out a box of Lapua 223 Rem. brass makes it a cheaper long term investment. With Lapua making brass for this cartridge, I`ll bet that the popularity of the 222 Remington round will see a rise. Considering the rising cost of components, the 222 Remington delievers a lot of groups at a cheaper cost per shot, than other accurate rounds. Thanks for the good news about Lapua`s planned production for this great cartridge. I know my H/V & Heavy Bench Rifles have been collecting dust, due to a lack of quality brass. Mike Kerwood, Kodiak Alaska
