Not sure if this is the place to ask but here goes. Did the old Shilen DGA actions come in a short and a long or were they all the same length? Specificaly, a 25-06 normally would be a long action but in a single shot I'm not sure. Thanks for your help. John

I have a .220 AI that has about 1100 rounds through it and seems to have lost a bit of accuracy. I know there are alot of variables but wondered if it's time to have the chamber freshened up? I shoot a 65 gr. bullet at about 3800 fps and pace the gun so the barrel doesn't get hot. Any comments...

I have an old Weaver V9 and the power selector ring stops between 7 and 8 power. There is also a pronounced "bump" at about 5 power. Does anyone know if this a easy fix or is it a more serious complex problem? Thanks, john.

A little story... I have LC, W-W and Lapua brass for my .223 and .20 X 223. I recently got a digital scale and did some weighing. Lapua was the heaviest LC the lightest and WW in the middle. But, the WW brass had the smallest varience of weight and both rifles have always turned in their best...

40x If you google Remington 40X you can find some info. One was an article written by Paul Colburn, I believe and this guy either worked for Remington, owned stock in Remington or is the most unabashed Remington homer I have ever come across. All I can say is WOW. Cheers, John.

Randy Gregory built a 700 .223 with a Kreiger barrel for me that shoots tiny groups. I was recommended to him and I could not be more satisfied. Funny thing is, I have never heard his name mentioned on any shooting forum and I've been trolling them since the 90's. John.

Al, I just got into annealing myself and I got my 650 degree Tempilstik from McMaster Carr. Best I can remember, they did'nt list a 660. Seems to work pretty good. Regards, John.

This load was developed for a live varmint gun about 4 years ago and the one thing that it has been is consistent. I have used several boxes of bullets, probably 3 different lot #'s of powder and the same carton of primers. I can count on only about 20-25 fps difference over the last 4 years...

Thanks, Al. I said the loaded rounds were the same but in retrospect, I started a new box of bullets(same kind) on the rounds that turned in a lower velocity. Both groups of loads were loaded on different days but I use a balance beam. Could be a slight difference in setting up the scale maybe...

Is it normal for velocity to go down when neck tension is increased? I load into the lands and I loaded some rounds that had .001 more neck tension then what I normally use. I expected more pressure with the greater tension but I lost about 60 fps. Is this normal? I could not detect anymore...
