    New Sniper Record

Isnt 1 MOA at 2.2 miles or about 3700 yd equivalent to about 37" and 1/4 minute 9.25"+/-. That makes an exceptional shot a real posibility.

    Stress relieving a barrel.

Been busy the last week. Barrel is free floated. Action in Houge stock on some sort of pillar. Cold, clean or cold, fouled first shot is high left. I think full power 300gr are a bit further out of group. The only 2" critter I can think of would be an end-on snake like a mamba. But then finally...

    Stress relieving a barrel.

No its first round out of a cold barrel. Next challenge will be to get the barrel off. Supposedly Howas are a real problem.

    Stress relieving a barrel.

Shooting my 375 Howa today and as usual the first shot is about 2" higher and lefter than those fired after warm up. Purpose of this thing is a dangerous game rifle, so this could be troublesome at some point. So is there any way to stress relieve a factory barrel, for instance can it be run...

    lr scopes

Ill chime in but with a disclamer. I have one 8-32 that I shoot 600 and have shot 1000 once. I think there may be a greater chance for variabilty in each individual scope, may be QC . Mine is crisp and precise on the adjustments, and more important repeatable. The glass is good not on a par...

Suggestions to Prevent Scope Creep in Rings

Ive only had one scope cause problems and that was a heavy steel tubed 2-8X 30mm scope that I mounted on a 8# 375 Ruger. It moved bare, and it moved with rosin/resin in lapped "Z" rings. I fixed it with a Leupold 1.75-6X 1" that weighed less than half of the steel tubed. And just to stop the...

not enough adjustemnt with NF 12x42 ? something isnt right!

Just shot for the first time at 1000yd this weekend. The equipt list is Stolle Panda with fixed rib mount base. 107 gr Sierra MK @ about 2930fps and a 8-32 Sightron. The up clicks were 1 and 1/2 turns on the turret over a 600yd zero @ sea level. Shooting was in hot dry air at 1699 feet...

Anyone Going to This Years 1,000 Yard Williamsport Bench Rest School

I am planning on being there and hope to improve any and all my shooting. The longer range certainly compounds the challenges.

    Smokeless Powder Shipping

an analysis of hazmat fees reveals that they were designed to ensure safety shipping anything that might be hazardous inspite of the fact there is almost no history of fire, or explosion related to most products- primers powders , aerosols etc. Seem like the whole thing is simply a cash cow.

    Bushnell Elite 3200 7-21x mil-dot

Not too experienced with some of the Bushnels but all those I had over the years have worked well for me- going back to a pair of 2 1/2X Banners that are still functioning today- even one on a 375. The Elite are their top scopes and the 2 four series I have are very serviceable, one is on a...

    Judge Scalia is dead.

Just think this goes back to 2012 when large contingent of so called conservative refused to vote for Romney. They probably effectively elected Bobo. Good bad or indifferent we wouldnt be facing this potential crisis/ catastrophe now. Lets pray congress can pony up some vertebrae and not permit...

    What's Your Ride?

Ride? Almost embarrassed to add my little foray into "stuff". Being a poor college student i the early sixties, I just drooled and rode w/ my friends with the Pontiac tripowers or the '55 Chevy coupes and 327 "full house" duals and tris- usual still in primer. Came upon a Chrysler 300G engine...

Experiment in progress--flash hole size reduction

would it be possible to "peen" the base of the pocket in the manner that the so called "case savers" displace metal in the head to tighten the pocket. Could this same type of displacement close the flash hole to the point it could be drilled to a discrete smaller size? this could avoid sending...

    Stolle Panda firing pin spring.

Does anyone have any data on the firing pin spring force/ load for a 1982 Panda. I tried measuring it but got technically confused. Ive substituted a 28# Wolffe Rem 700 spring which does seem to register ~28#. The original spring seems to be abt 20#,

    Chambering Issue

Could the rim be buggered or expanded on the old cases, enough to hang up on bolt closure. A batch of new cases should be an answere as was suggested.
