Can you put a Rem 260 in a long action?

I'm sorry - did I offend you in some way?

Can you put a Rem 260 in a long action?

Yes. I have one and it shoots very nicely. Thank-you for asking. Anyone else with their favorite alternative in 6.5 in a long action please also chime in here. This will be a sporter rifle just to plink with. Targets out to 300 yards and the occasional target of opportunity. Something in a...

Can you put a Rem 260 in a long action?

I've owned a couple 260's in Remington short actions and was never happy with the amount of bullet that I had to stuff into the case in order to fit the round into the magazine. So I wondered if a long action would be a better fit and would this cartridge reliably feed from a long action...

    Suggestions for a short-actioned all-around rifle?

Still trying to make up my mind so I spent some time at the range on Saturday and all day on Sunday. It was sunny and in the 40's. 12 rifles and four pistols between the two days. Came home Sunday and was going thru a bunch of stuff and trying to organize. Found a Leupold VX-II 2-7 x 32...

    Suggestions for a short-actioned all-around rifle?

In Missouri you need to use a "center-fire" cartridge.. although there have been many taken with a .22 mag rimfire....

    700 win mag problems

I have several heavy-barreled big-boomers. They are all basically as you described your rifle. They all shoot the first three shots very well and start to scatter each successive shot. I don't know why that is. I always thought it was heat. There's a lot of powder behind a .300 mag.

    Suggestions for a short-actioned all-around rifle?

I haven't had a rifle built in a few years. Kinda got away from shooting for a while and took to touring the country via motorcycle. I know than many of you think that there's no "perfect" rifle for what I'm describing but it really doesn't need to be the "perfect" rifle. Really, it just...

    I'm thinking that I like Al's idea of a 6.5x47 Lapua........

    Suggestions for a short-actioned all-around rifle?

THIS rifle would have to consistently print 3/4" at 100 yards. Will be outfitted with a 3x-9x scope and probably will not be shot at distances farther that 300 yrds. Looking for lighter recoil than, say, a 7mm-08. No muzzle brakes. Would want the cartridge to feed from the factory magazine...

    Suggestions for a short-actioned all-around rifle?

I've a Remington short action sitting here. The weather is cooling down and it's time for a project. Already have a couple .308's and 7mm-08's. Got a couple 6.5's On long actions there's 30-06, 280-AI, 270, etc. I'm thinking laminated stock and a #4 or #5 contour that's not longer than 22"...

    Any motorcyclists on this forum?

Wow that looks like a lot of "stuff". Here's a 52 Panhead. 4-speed, kicker. We have several other bikes (in actual running condition) :) . .

    .243 Ai

I agree. Remember, for any given choice, there are always alternatives. If that's what you want then get one.

Wipe out liquid bore cleaner ?

Had a problem Pac-Nor CM barrel and the only thing that finally got the copper out was that Wipe-Out foam stuff. Bought a case when it was first available. Then bought the accelerator. Have since stopped using the accelerator. Didn't seem to make much difference. On my custom barrels...

Best 243 factory round for deer

A soft-point in the 85 grain variety. NOT a "premium bullet" unless you intend to shoot one "end-to-end". Have seen a lot of deer "drilled" with a heavy .243 bullet. Translation: no expansion. The Remington 80 grain soft point in factory ammo works well. My personal favorite (for...
