    Scope choice for .22 BR

We use a March 48x52 Highmaster & Nightforce 15-55x52 competition on my & my partners outdoor 50 yard MS-18 Annie & custom Lithgow & 22 BR rifles which I also use inside at 25 yards. I find the higher magnification a big help as I can hold off precisely where I need to to try to get the perfect...

dial in TOP OF THE LANDS OR BOTTOM OF THE BORE

I had a carbon wrapped barrel from a local manufacturer on a good hunting rifle, it would do the 2 touching then one at least 1-1.25 moa away trick... The throat & chamber looked drunk, you could clearly see the remnants of two of the six lands in the freebore/throat & the chamber dialed up...

suggest a bbl length and profile for a 338 edge

Not sure how heavy you want to build it my hunting ones are generally 8.5/9lbs plus ready to go, at least a .820 muzzle & 3/4 muzzle thread is an advantage. Too large muzzle diameter/heavy barrel puts quite a strain on the action. More velocity with a 30" barrel & Retumbo, N570, RL33. Make sure...

    Muzzle Brakes and Suçh

Use the biggest thread you can as long as you have a 30-40 thou shoulder. Have a look at Terminator Muzzle Brakes I have way more models (17) & way more available threads, (13-14 in T2 & T3 models) than anyone else.

    Hand Priming Tools - 2017

I blew up a Hornady one a few years ago made a hang of a mess of my LH thumb & right hand. It put spent primers all around the workshop. At a guess 50 or so Fed 215s, priming tight pocket BB Cheytac brass when one went sideways, too much force & BOOM. Was a really scary experience, I use RCBS...

    Bullet Brand/Pressure Differences?

I might be missing the point here but there will be a big difference if one is a Nosler E-Tip, (solid copper projectile with a long bearing surface) & conventional copper jacket lead core of the same calibre & weight say 150 grain in a 7mm Or if it was a 223 where it takes very little to over...

    Newbie with Scope Question

I'm a MOA/Yards Dinosaur I'm being kinda being pushed/coerced/suggested by some of my customers to compete in some LR/PRS style shoots here (I'm busy enough with work & BR) The problem is for that I will need to convert to metres, MIL & FFP otherwise I won't be able to effectively...

    Newbie with Scope Question

For known distance events you want SFP For unknown or variable distance FFP is a benefit SFP reticle hash marks only show the full measurement at one power, usually but not always full power FFP reticle hash marks always show the same measurement regardless of magnification power. SFP...

    Muzzle brake 6mm

Yes I appreciate that, I was commenting on its original fitment clearance when it was on the 6mm.

    Muzzle brake 6mm

That's not a lot of clearance (7 thou) on the original rifle, everything including the carbon build up would want to be under control. You wouldn't want to run that tight a clearance on a 90 degree ported brake. I recommend 25-30 thou clearance on my brakes but they are angled back ported...

Thank goodness they don't make them like the used to......

Yes I was very surprised when it was trying to fall out of the action with only just less than 1/2 of the thread engaged....

Thank goodness they don't make them like the used to......

Just for interests sake the serial # is C6708696 I guess that gives an indication of the year it was built ?

Thank goodness they don't make them like the used to......

Currently rebarreling an old Blued Rem 700 308 Target/Tactical for a client, pulled the factory barrel off & found this.... When going into the receiver "loose" doesn't even begin to describe the first 3/4's of the thread It has been abused & had a besquillion rounds through it. Used to...

Balliastic Software and the 20moa rail

In theory if the barrel is set up nicely in the action & they are in the stock nicely & your have good rings a zero rail should have you sighted in at 100 at around the middle of the scope elevation adjustment, 37.5 moa, if you used a 20 moa rail installed correctly you should be 20 moa lower...
