    Oak Hills today, registered match

At what is in the past a super shoot warm up match, today we had reduced attendance due to the format change for the super shoot. It was still a good turnout, a good shoot, and a good time. Here's how it went. HV 100 Jerry King .2042 Glen Renfer .2054 Jerry Wick .2200 Jim Carstensen .2424...

    Tubal 3000 - What's it good for?

I had some back then. Similar in burn rate to NN133 from that era. Jim

    6MM Classic brass

It was Dave Jansen that had that brass made, I believe. It was about 1994. Jim

    Norma 6 PPC brass

Why would you want a .015 gap between the end of your case and the start of the freebore? Seems like that is just a place for carbon to build up.

How do you know you need to have your cases trimmed to 1.495?

Norma 201 - old vs very old

It's been a long time since I had any of the newer 201 (which I was really disappointed in, as it was a lot slower than the old). I do have several cans of the old stuff, and to look at it, it's kind of shiny. I don't recall the newer stuff being that way. JIm

This is a hard post...about a friend & shooter passing

To me, Tom epitomized what it means to be a benchrest shooter: Have fun at the match, enjoy everyone, and still be a fierce competitor, win or loose. My heart goes out to Carolyn and family. We are so diminished by the loss. JIm Carstensen

Norma 201 - old vs very old

I have early 80's N201 in both 400 and 500 grain cans. It all is the same speed and shoots the same.

Reaming existing 262 nk chamber to no turn diameter - advisable?

When you open up the neck with a chucking reamer, you will loose the radius at the neck-shoulder junction, depending on how much you enlarge the neck.

    80 gr HPFB..

Years ago when I had more time and desire to explore, I shot a .100 short 6BR. I have everything left over from then. I have a 12 twist barrel and used a 6 BR reamer, going in .090 short. I can use my old brass and dies. With 2015 N133, (it's really slow compared to 2014) 58 clicks on my Jones...

    80 gr HPFB..

A Standard 6 BR case holds 1.5 grains more N133 than a Grinch case. A .090 6 short 6 BR holds 1 grain less than a Grinch. I don't see the need to improve the BR case, too much capacity already.

any new feedback/opinions on LABRADAR ?

I've always shot mine with the Labradar about even with the front bag on my Farley rest. It always seems to work. I didn't realize I'd been doing it wrong.

    Sporter Class NBRSA

If you want to have something different in the sporter class, all you need to do is require that the caliber be anything but a 6mm. JIm

    6PPC Barrel Life

The Vipers came with a BR/PPC boltface. The above post's valuation seems close to me, scope and all.

    6PPC Barrel Life

Competitive life of a barrel really depends on how good it was to start with. Some aren't good for 200 rounds, others may go over 2000 and still be better than most.

    Taiwan lathe spindle runout

Back to spindle runout. I have a question. Are you turning the spindle by hand, or running the machine with the indicator in place? That may make a difference.
