I use fed 205 primers,17 grains of n-120 and a 52 grain br bullet. 1680 and 4198 are very good,h-4198 at 17 grains is a good br load. I use Lapua .222 cases by just running them through a .221 fireball sizing die,trim to length,check neck thickness,you may have to turn a small amount .

The cost of lead,copper,powder,primers is one thing,but also,the equip race has helped kill benchrest shooting.

I have a 722 in .300 savage,and i just started building one on a 722 that was chambered in .244 The difference is the safety,stamped parts, but really the same as a 700. I like mine,don't care so much for a .300 savage chamber but it;s a good light hunting rifle with very good barrel/accuracy.

No i have not ,i use it in a .410 skeet loads,i'll try it in the .221,the N-120 was the best going but they stopped making it and AA-1680 is also very good. I might try lil-gun in my hornet.

I use Lapua .222 brass for both the 221 fb and the .222 I just take 222 lapua brass,run it through a .221 fl sizing die and trim to length. The RWS brass is very good,it is a bit harder that norma and lapua. n-120 and AA-1680 has no peers in the .221 fireball.

No-no,it should work well when fed from the mag. The cases are the same except the Ackley case is a tad Bigger as it is blown almost straight to the shoulder. The 22/250 works very good.

It should work ok if you have the extractor altered to chamber with out chunking them down in the mag. my friend has a 98 mauser that is chambered in 22/250 and it works fine. I don't think you will have a problem,since the 257 ai is a 8mm necked down anyway.

Mill a slot as stated by the other posts,i have a rem 700 sleeved ,it is a unlimited bag gun in 6 ppc,it shoots as good as my rail gun did with a polar action.

I have the same thing in a 700 sps,let me know what it does if you cut the barrel,i would rather have a 22 inch barrel if it will shoot and not lose much Vel.
