    Practice Screamer

Jerry there is a possibility that it just may. But my solution definitely will without a doubt. ;)

Ever seen an RCBS die like this?

If that is the press I'm thinking of.....it's been a long time since I've seen one. Is the A-4 that monster size press from about the early 80's that had the 3 jaw shell holder? Like I said....It's been a long time ago.

Mr. Tubb, I'm not saying that doing what you suggest won't work but, the barrel has already been replaced. Secondly IMO that barrel isn't worth putting any more money, time, powder, primers or fuel for the truck into. I've already put more time & money into that ragged piece...

I just thought I show a pic of that barrel after 15 rounds. It still amazes me.

Ever seen an RCBS die like this?

Ever seen an RCBS die like this?

I think it is a primer pocket swaging die but I'm not sure. Or maybe a priming die? I haven't located the parts that go to the ram yet so I don't know. RCBS is stamped on the face under the shell holder. Any ideas?

Full length sized brass does not fit

Headspace is off the belt. Wouldn't you want to run the reamer in just to the point of touching the bottom of the belt counter bore that is already there? I believe you already determined that the headspace is already correct earlier. Right?

Please advise SS material for barrel nut

Kiff sells them for $24. Maybe a call to him to see what he uses might be the ticket.

    Throat angle

Jerry, in hindsight, I should have probably sent it back to the barrel nut people that made it. But since I cut on it, that is a waste of time. When I say this, I'm not kidding not even one little bit....that barrel is the roughest barrel I have EVER seen on ANY rifle. It is soooooo rough that...

    Throat angle

The reason for this question is that I am trying to diagnose a high pressure problem on a factory barrel that I set back with a tight match grade reamer. The caliber is 270 Win. I set it back the length of the neck plus a little to be sure everything cleaned up. Originally the back of the...

Full length sized brass does not fit

Calling Redding would be a good option IMO. My experience with them in the past has been positive. They may have you send the die back with a few cases and diagnose the problem. All you can do is ask and see what they have to say.

    6mm ackley

brickeyee I agree with you on needing a determining factor for each chamber. I was just passing on info from a major bullet manufacturer. How they got their specs, I don't have a clue. They do have a 1-800 number to call and ask about it if anyone was interested enough to do so.

Full length sized brass does not fit

Just in case you didn't see the instructions for a collet resizing die...here they are. Operating Instructions 1.This collet die is universal and it works on all belted magnum cartridges (except 224, 240, 378 and 460 Weatherby). There are no extra collets required. Before each use, be...

Full length sized brass does not fit

Now keep moving the die down and sizing the same case until you get it to bump the shoulder back to your fire form length and see if it fits.
