Shooters THAT SHOT the IBS National's in Holton, Michigan

Short range Benchrest shooting is a slowly dying discipline. Some local ranges find a niche and do well. National events are a major undertaking for the casual shooter. Maybe the long range is holding up better. Young shooters have a lot of choices in the shooting sports. Takes some serious...

    Twist rate vs bullet weight?

I don’t think that is exactly what they mean Butch..The best tune for 600 usually isn’t the best tune for 100. I would think in short range game some might have a different load for 200 and 100. So your best 200 yard load might not group as good at 100.. On my 600 yard gun I usually have to...

    Does anyone undercut their shoulders?

Just trying to figure out why you would do that. At first glance it seemed a solution looking for a problem. But evidently you think it will improve something. Does anyone undercut their shoulders?

1 TURN will tune a barrel.... argument??

I would think it depends on how good of a tune you have before you start to turn the tuner. Weight would make a difference too. I would say it’s very possible to accomplish your goal of one rev.

    up side down threading

I just meant to a real machinist. 29 or 30 degrees on the compound is the correct taught way. Is the only difference just cutting with one side of the tool. Is there anything technically wrong with just going straight in? Would anyone catch Jackie plunging straight in? ?
