Varmint For Score For the viewers who have never seen a Varmint for score target. The 100yd,5X Example below, was recently shot at a registered match, by a rookie with a hot gun. This is a fun game and a tough game. Everybody should try it at least once. Try to make it out to one of your...

Jackie...You got one of your old score targets laying around that you could post to illustrate your point. Just for those who dont know what score targets look like. You are correct....That first shot in group shooting is free. All you gotta do is put the next four in the same hole.:D Glenn

Steve are you sure you're not describing Golf?:D Lot of Sport similarities,Except for the steering. Golf is ten times more difficult. I won't live to get in 30 more Benchrest years. getting more forgetful as the years pass. Still trying to figure it out. Glenn

    April 19,1995

At 9:02 a.m. on April 19,1995, a powerful explosion ripped through the North side of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City,Oklahoma. Five of my former co-workers/employees were among the 168 men, women and children who died that day. This year marks the 25th anniversary of...

Targets Talk Yep. my observations have been, that the target will tell you everything you need to know about your shooting skills and equipment. As simple as it may sound, the target illustrates the fruits of your labor. The practice as well as actual competition. More importantly, the target...

Gremlins Bill and Bill, those are some interesting practices. Never tried either one. Ive always relied on the sighter target to help me process what I think I need to do. You’ve got seven minutes per target to draw on your experience. Again, its not easy. You never know what the spoiler(...

Gene…. Good advice. I was “running em” like Tony and Mike before either book was written. Got the idea from watching some of the Gulf Coast Region Rail Gun shooters. My mentor, was probably one of the best 200yd shooters in the Gulf Coast region, He shot a bunch of sighters in a 200yd match...

Targets Talk Mark and Tim,Thanks for sharing your examples(illustrations) of actual competition. My target is a constant reminder of how tough this game can be. I look back at that day, at the match, and try to gleen some self discipline that would perhaps limit some of the stupid mistakes. I...

Your geographic description of the Shelby County Range, sounds exactly like the Luther,Okla.Range that Mark mentioned in Post#4. I shot at Luther one time. My wind flags only went up to 8',had to borrow two 12' ones from the match director. Mark won the two gun. BR is like Golf. Every...

    The fifth shot

See post#3. In my way of describing it,"Hold Up" means to stop. Flag tails were moving. Needed to verify what i thought I was looking at, before I let that fifth shot go. As it turns out,I didn't see the change down range, before I pulled the trigger. Its happened before. Make sense? Glenn

Ive' gotten bitten bad by going to sighter or not going to sighter. Miss a change at 200yds,the result is usually,BIG group.:D That four shot group measured something like a .190. Makes you kinda hesitant to let the fifth one go without checking. Glenn
