Why would you not seat

Jerry

David, how far are you from Moscow, IA? I have a friend there and she says it is still freezy cold where she lives.

you have a friend? Could not resist! ;>)

Moscow is about 2 hours due east. Funny thing is that eastern Iowa has been colder than west and central most of the winter. But the weather is changing. we had a couple of 70*+ this last week and the rest were in the the low to mid 60's. But we are getting redflag warnings now. Need spring rains!!

See ya in 10 days.

Hold on for a post or two...

I mentioned earlier that I thought it was not a bad thing to allow your bullets to seat when chambered. I wrote that thinking inside the box...that you would do that with almost no neck tension. Reading the posts by others it seems that some are chambering with more neck tension than I would. Don't know whether or not that's good or bad but if the bolt doesn't close freely, as it does on an empty chamber (real close to that), it can lead to a poor agg.

Don't allow hard bolt closure...ever. It doesn't matter if the rifle shoots a little better or not. The distraction of the difficult bolt will cause problems unseen.

a great post by chief cook and bottle washer. Tight bolt closure is EVIL.
