UPS joins anti-gun crowd

Today in Texas I tried to UPS an AR bolt to Shillen to headspace a new AR barrel at the local UPS outlet. After the clerk looked at the shipping address she told me that due to their UPS contract they would not ship any thing that is part of a gun or goes on a gun. I got the feeling that they wouldn't ship anything to Shillen. They told me that to ship it by UPS I would have to go to a regional UPS center (25 miles away). They would not even mail it by USPS for me. I have never had a problem like this before. Has anyone else come across this? Is UPS become "woke"? Tim

UPS outlets and stores have largely had this policy around most of the US for years.
A distribution ctr is an option, shipping “ machine parts “ with a label as ambiguous as you can muster is an alternative.
Here in NY we find “creative solutions”.
UPS has for years now, employees in parts of the US that take it upon themselves to damage gun shipments……throwing them out of trucks, driving over them…… fun stuff like that.

UPS stores go by their own code. You need to go to a UPS hub or proper outlet. UPS is NOT anti gun as you suggest in your title.

ups is anti-gun
when they were loosing money on lost handgun shipments, they determined it was INTERNAL THEFT. rather than fix the issue they insisted on over night shipments on handguns. raising the cost to cover their EMPLOYEE THEFTS.
gun owners pay, not the thieving employees.
that is antigun

any links or is this your "theory"?

UPS will come pick up a firearm at your home or place of business...... Free.

Even the UPS hub stores can give you hassle but in my experience they cannot refuse to ship a firearm.

The so-called "UPS outlets" are a completely different deal. There're 5 of them in this area and I despise them so thoroughly that I'll sometimes keep a gun-shaped package on my work van addressed "Ritchie's Guns and Gear" and if I have time to kill I'll go try mail it through an outlet store JUST to hold up the line and ultimately get kicked out.

Getting kicked out of places is a speciality of mine.

Tim, I have no problem with USPS and UPS will pick up those items if you have a credit card account with them. Stick the bolt in a small priority box and mail it.

Ups

There are instructions on the UPS web site for shipping firearms. Handguns are different than long guns, but I don't think the UPS "stores" will knowingly ship any guns. The hub near me in Watertown CT, insists that any firearm has to go overnight, which is contrary to UPS policy. Lucky for me there is a Fedex center on the same road and no problem with them. Seems like maybe local management sets the policy for the individual center.

Yes But

I still get the feeling that UPS is anti-gun. They make you jump through unnecessary hoops to mail guns or especially gun related parts. Irregardless of individual different reactions to shipping guns etc. UPS still makes it difficult/impossible to ship this stuff. We mailed the bolt to Shillen by USPS with no problems. UPS I am done with using you. Tim
