Upgrade to Hawkeye bore scope

Not sure if this has been mentioned before....

There is a very good upgrade that can be done to the Hawkeye bore scope. Go to any good camping store or a store that sells the Maglite torch range, and look for a product called Nite Ize LED Upgrade. It fits any AA Mini Maglite and uses three Bright-White LED's to replace the single globe. The part number is LRB-07.

The result is amazing. The inside of the bore now gets a clean bright look to it rather than the yellowish glow of a normal globe. I paid $12.95 AUD and it's one of the best purchases that I have made.

Wally World should have them, I got one there about a year ago. B J is right, it is a pure white light.

Leds last longer too

I have the leds on all my Mini Mag lights and batteries last all deer season. I also find the Nite eyes velcro strap to hold the mini mag light on your head a great hands free addition. There have been times that I looked like Mr. Gadget looking into a chamber with the light and magnafiers both on my head at the same time.

I don't patronize the local Wal-Mart due to ineptness/lack of concern of the employees. I'll be in Selma in a few days and go in theirs while they are still in my fairly good graces. ;) Many thanks.

Isn't that normal for all Walmart stores? I try to avoid Walmart, Lowes and the other mega-stores, unless I just can't find it somewhere else.

You can use it the way it comes. Don't bother with the switch, it sucks. Really brings up the copper over the incandesant(sp) bulb.

It is for the ones around here. You can be in checkout and the checker can't do her job for BS'ing with another checker. Even my barberette does it but I always ask them if I'm hindering their visit. If so, I can leave. They never catch on. I'm not bashful about telling them that I'm not there because I'm lonesome or behind on the gossip, I'm there to pay them and leave. Lately, I haven't even been going since I order more and more stuff online.

I thought about the same shipping charges and it galls me a little but then I thought of if in this light: Driving at least 5 miles one way (if I wait until Monday), walking all over Wal-Mart, waiting in a long line to check out, listening to a couple of 'night fighters' jabber while they're trying to check people out, getting royally pissed and it ruining my day. I can miss all of that and just have UPS bring it to my front porch for only $11! A bargain any day of the week.

Howzzat for another perspective? ;)

Couldn't find the LED Pack at REI or ACE. However if you buy the 2 cell AA Kryton bulbs (2 for $2.50) you will see a white light and a lot brighter. ----Bill
