The Crawfish match will be held April 17th & 18th at the Tomball Gun Club located at 12600 Zion Road. HV 100 will be shot at 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning and the LV 100 in the aftenoon. Sunday we will start at 8:00 A.M. with the LV 200 and the HV 200 finishing-up the afternoon.

This is the tenative schedule and depends on whether we have FOG etc. or not. If the weather is nice, this is how the schedule will go.

It would also be a good idea to bring your loading table. Early arrivals will take-up space on our existing tables. Space is limited.

Do a Google search for motels in Tomball. You will find several in the area. I would not recommend the Economy Inn & Suites based on what others have experienced unless you just want to be near the range. It is the closest and probably the cheapest.

Gene Bukys has the travelling trophy now. Come see if you can take it home with you.

Looking forward to seeing all of you again, even Arnold Jewell if he does not chicken-out. He loves Tomball's switchy winds!:D

Looking forward

Looking forward to getting there this year.... I am one of several who will attest to NOT staying at the Economy inn and suites. When it was the Best Western Tomball Inn it was nice.

I do not make it a habbit to talk about things like that but you won't get your 49 bucks worth..

Hope to see alot of folks at the match......

I agree. I've stayed there at least three times and it's NOT the greatest. The only thing its got going for it, is a very convenient location. The next time I go to Tomball I'll be looking for a different place to stay. Art :)

Executive Inn

I vote against this one. Always used the Best Western, but you have to carry everything inside, if you want to keep it.

Gary,
what does it take to become a club member there? I grew up in stagecoach and have been traveling because of work for the last several years, but i would join if i ever settle down back home.

Marshall, you have to know somebody in the club and be vouched for and that is not a sure thing.

Tomball Gun Club

It took me several years to finally get into The Tomball Gun Club, and it was worth the wait.

I like to say that a membership in the Tomball Gun Club is worth it's weight in great bullets. (not gold, because to a real Benchrest Shooter, great bullets are worth more than gold).:D...........jackie

I visited a range in Florida this winter that has some 3500 members, I think the fellow said. It is open to the public and members 364 days per year. They have about every kind of shooting facility a person could think of. As I recall, the membership is around $110 per year and about that as an application fee, for the lack of a better way to state it. Just do the math. With that kind of income from memberships a club can do some stuff.

We have several "large" ranges in the Houston Area. They are zoos. Totally "public", if you know what I mean.

Many times we are up at Tomball on Saturday or Sunday, and have the entire place to ourselves. The small membership is a big plus to shooters like Benchrest Shooters, who are just about up there every week end.

Tomball is also a Non Profit entity. Since the property is more or less classed as "undeveloped", taxes are low, and we have very few expenses.

The members want to keep it that way.........jackie

Jonathan

You have to remember. If you look at any weather forcast in the Houston Area in the Springtime and early Summer,, it will just about always say, "30 percent chance of thunderstorms"...........jackie

Little Black Cloud

And I thought it was that Little Black Cloud that always found me when I went thru Houston.
