Ultimate Benchrest Nationals - Update

It's probably too late for most people who haven't already planned to shoot the UBR Nationals at the Gallatin Gun Club just north of Nashville TN, but if you decide to come we will have room for you. The match will be held on Saturday and Sunday August 30-31 with the 100 yard match on Saturday and the 200 on Sunday. The drawing for door prizes will be immediately after the 200 yard match.

The range will be open on Friday afternoon after 3:00PM for anyone who wants to get in a few practice shots and we will be closing the range for firing and putting out the target frames for flag placement around 5:00 PM. We must be off the property before sundown as TVA requires. I will be at the range before 7:00 AM on Saturday for additional flag placement and the safety meeting will begin at 9:00 AM.

Directions to the range can be found on the club website www.gallatingun.com. There are several motels available in Gallatin (15 minutes from the range) as well as on I-40 at the Lebanon exit (30 minutes from the range). There are plenty of good restaurants near both locations. Lunch will be served both days at the range and will included in the entry fee. The entry fee is $40 for one rifle and $20 for each additional class. If you need any additional information please give me a call.

That WAS the plan, But farming got heavy in the way this year for LW Moore, now if You mean bullet making cousin Larry Moore? Id guess he is there.

If the attachment worked you will see the 100 yard results. Things went very well, although we had fewer shooters than we hoped for. Conditions were pretty good for Gallatin, but it's pouring rain right now and it's supposed to do this for much of the day. Still I'd rather be shooting in the rain than working. It's all a matter of perspective

Thanks Rick, I checked out your weather forecast for tomorrow, it looks rough with wind gusts to 25mph.. Hold on to your hat my friend.

I've attached the 200 yd and GA results. Maybe George will blow them up for us. Honestly I am just too tired to give you details about the day. But I will tell you that even though we had rain forecast throughout the day and had it all around us, we only got about a 5 minute shower between one of the relays. 70ºs in August for Middle TN is unheard up. I think I can say we all had a good time, the winners a little more than the losers. Much thanks to all who were able to attend. I know of several who couldn't make it due to health issues, but that's the way it is when your sport is populated with old men :D Also thanks to all who helped out especially my good friend John Beauchamp who acted as Range Officer for 3 of 4 relays and handled the food. I hope we can do it again next year and I hope more folks can join us.

I'll see about adding some more after I've had some rest.

Rick
