Two Unaka shoots for 2015

From what I hear there won't be any matches there next year.
Last year was the first season of shooting registered matches for me. What will the schedule look like for us in the southeast next year with UNAKA holding no matches?

There are two shoots going on at Unaka this year. 06/13-06/14 is the Tennessee State Championship LV/HV 100/200 and 08/15-08/16 is a 200 yard 4-gun 5-shot Unlimited. why this isn't on the NBRSA schedule is something I was not aware of. If we don't have a decent turnout it's nearly guaranteed we won't be having matches in 2016. I'm doing everything I can to maximize the revenue for the club for them to keep having matches. This is all I know.

Thanks Bud

Thanks for posting the dates. The NBRSA website shoes your second shoot 18-19 July. Right at the end of the IBS Nationals. I'll adjust my calendar. Anyone know if there will be a SE Regional 100?

No better place for this I suppose.....What happened to the SE Region as far as match attendance is concerned? We once had a fight about how we were going to have enough benches to support the attendance and now attendance (and matches) is pretty grim.

What happened? I thought it was gas prices but it seems there's something else involved that I don't know about.

I'm reading some old PS mags from the 1980's and there were about 15-20 in the SE Region. Bristol, Sparta, Hickory, Wilmington, Greenville, Gallitan, Rachel's Glen, Fayetteville, Roanoke, Reedsville, just to name a few.

Centre fire Group requires a lot of doing before, during and after that Centerfire Score does not. And running shoots is a low paying job!!

I've been in several other registered sports and they are all cyclic but none is as expensive as Centerfire group.

You are right Jerry, pretty expensive. I think the component shortages have a negative effect on new shooters. Pretty good interest in long range these days.
