O.K. this may not be ground braking but it finaly let some light in on a problem ive been having, and i wanted to share. This year ive been having a hard time getting realy steady on the bench. I had written it off as a lack of practice, and poor form. At nationals this week end with some advice from a fellow shooter, i started bag squeezing again and it helped quite a bit. I went to put my equipment away tonight and felt something running down my arm, and looked down to notice a small pile of heavy sand in my range box. upon inspection i found my edgewood bag leaking sand from the fill fold for the bottom section. I pulled the flap out of its hole and refilled the bag untill it was firm again using over a 1/4 cup of heavy sand. I have no idea how this much sand could get out of the filler being folded over like that but it did, and apparently slow enough that i realy never noticed a major difference in the bag. After some dry fire testing on the back porch the stability difference was very noticible. After words i decided to seal all three fill ports with shoe goop. I guess lesson learned, if things are going south never take it for granted, there can and probably will be a problem some where, and all equipment should be inspected regularly regardless of how simple of item it may be. Who knows how long this had been a problem.

I must admit that I have considered enviromental issues effecting the amount of sand that should be in my bag yet not addressing the issue.
