This 3-day match comes near the end of the outdoor shooting season. The weather should be great.
The range at Fairchance has 50 benches. There is no honey hole at either end of the range, and there is no known sweet spot.
Whatever bench you draw you will have the same opportunity as all other shooters. Add to this these matches will only be one relay.
That means you will be shooting shoulder to shoulder in the same conditions as all other shooters. You can't get the "bad relay".
This will be a great chance to see what really works and how well it works compared to other ideas/systems.
Many of you have been working on new ideas to achieve better scores. I've seen threads talking about long barrels, short barrels, fast and slow twist barrels. Different types of barrel chambers. etc. etc.
I've also seen some of these ideas dismissed with "if it worked better, we would all be doing it that way" That is a pretty curt answer and probably isn't correct.
If you come to this match you can see for yourself what is working. Talk to the guys and gals that is making it work, and maybe pick up some useful ideas for your shooting program.
More than that you will meet a lot of people that share your interest. Make plans now. Hope to see you there.
