Spotting scopes ?

Konus 80mm. Spent about an hour at the lathe and made an adapter to mount the Konus on my old scope stand. Much better. Today I need to make a bench adapter too.
Isn't it 1/4-20? I need to fabricate a off set adapter to move the CG aft about 2", as it stands mounted now its front end heavy. Also would like to adapt a video camera to it to record a relay, so I can relive and critique my misses:(

Yes it is 1/4x20. I used a 6" C clamp for a better bench mount. Drilled and tapped the center section of the clamp. Then I had a piece of 1" plastic that they use for boat construction. Milled out a grove for the top section of my scope stand. Bolted the block to the side and let it pinch the top rod section. Works great off of a concrete bench. I will probably change to a stud and build a hand knob instead of the bolt.

update

I fired the monthly club 600 yard match today. The 20-60X100 Konus scope preformed very well. I was able to see bullet holes in paper easily and could spot the strike on the Silhouette's with no problem.

For a $300 scope, everyone that looked through it felt it was clear, in focus and a decent scope. I think I could have gone with the 20-60X80 for $100 less but I am happy with this one.

I will definitely need a quality tripod, this is not a compact scope and would certainly benefit from sturdier mounting.

Thanks again for all the input
