So, What's happening with the custom work?

Gert,

Thank you for the report. Great shooting by all.

One question, many shooters talk about "seasoning" a barrel. Have you seen a need to "season" your Benchmark barrel?

The barrel is still brand new with about 700-800 pellets shot. Most shot at home to tune the regs. I must say that from the first outdoor shots it was performing very well at 100 meters. For some reason I clean the BM barrel much more often that the .20 Rapid with a Walther barrel.

Regarding the weighing of pellets I am slowly coming to the conclusion that it's a waste of time. So hopefully this soul destroying practice will soon come to an end for me. Problem I have is that weighing give me confidence and I think one needs rituals to go through and believe in.

Heavy and light pellets seems to group well together as a previous post found mentioned.

Gert,

The reason for the question is that I have a 2 groove Benchmark barrel that shot well from the beginning. Mine has been indexed and has a very straight bore. My testing was also indoors but not at a distance of 100m. You can see some of the results on usairriflebenchrest.com in the Notes section.

I will also mention that my barrel needs to be cleaned about every 100 pellets. The accuracy begins to diminish at that point. There does not seem to be too much leading, barrel cleans very nicely in 3 patches, but it must need it.
