Reverse taper or not?

Ok I've been reading, and soaking in as much info as I can for last 2 weeks. What little brain I have is overloaded! I need some advice? I will be shooting only at a 100 yards. What are the advantages or disadvantages of a reverse taper barrel. Also what grove and twist? Thanks for any advice.

The wind messes with you so bad at 100 yds that I don't know how you would determine the ideal set up. All of my guns that shoot really good at 50 yds will also shoot great at 100 yds when the conditions get cooperative enough to get all 5 shots off in one condition. Otherwise it's about impossible to keep all 25 shots [ 5 bulls and 5 shots at each bull ] in the 1" ten ring my club uses at 100 yds if you are trying to judge and shoot in constantly changing winds.

Below are my two 100 yds targets from our last match.

Ray - Pretty darn impressive for 100 yards. Are Y'all shooting something like that on a regular basis?

Whatever taper you're using would be a great choice!

At our monthly club matches we shoot 2 of the IBS targets at 100 and one RBA target at 50. The match is usually won by the 100 yd score. At 100 yds there has to be 5 discernable bullet holes on each bull. That one 50 on the lh target has 4 discernable holes on the left plus the one on the right. If you [un]luck out and get 2 shots in one hole you better put another one out there. You can only get credit for one "X" on each bull so a perfect score would be 250-5X.

Below is a pic of the first 2 'proof of concept' targets I fired at 100. On the lower left the conditions settled down long enough to get all 5 shots off resulting in a nice [ lucky ] mid .3 group. I thought about using the IBS 100 yd target but for now am going with the 200 yd target. I also thought about using the IBS 100 yd target at 50 yds but it's too easy to shoot out the 10 ring. I am considering adding target frame holes at 75 yds and shooting one target at 50, 75 and 100.

Next year I am going to add 2 BiPod classes and at this time I am planning on shooting all 3 BiPod class targets at 100 as it would be a pitn to have to move the bipod for 25 bulls.

What I meant to ask...are scores such as these somewhat rare or every day business?

A 248 is the highest at 100 , so far :)

Here are the scores from the last match. John was shooting a new to him Calfee Turbo with no ammo testing before the match. He left his well proven 40X at home and lost the match as a result :)
