Remington 40-X Bore Cleaner

Good cleaner
I have it and use it on my target rifles. It works well, I believe it works as well if not better than JB Bore paste for getting the crude out of the throat of my rifles. I and my wife shoot F-Class at 600 and 1000 yards and shoot 60+ rounds between cleanings.
A fellow shooter called Krieger barrelsand talked with them about this product and was told that it will not harm the barrel at all.

To me...
To me this stuff is liquid JB. Easy and handy to use, I've found it to be (when you need it) as effective as JB paste. And...it's far less messy than Isso; another good carbon remover.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping that this cleaner would work as well as JB and Iosso. It looks like it would clean up a little easier also.
I have been using JB and Iosso to clean the carbon and the copper out of my barrels for a while now, so I guess I will give this cleaner a try.

If "40x" is a new name for the old RemClean and they haven't changed the formula, it is great stuff. I like to wrap a patch around an undersized plastic brush and soak with the RemClean adn short stroke back and forth. I also use Kroil before and after to both get the stuff loosened up and clean all the gunk out at the end.

update
I used it to clean 2 handguns. A 44Mag using full power cast bullet loads, and a .380 Auto with 100rds thru it. One had lead fouling and the other, copper, so I figured this would be a good test.
Used on a patch wrapped around a nylon brush, both guns were totally cleaned of any powder and bullet fouling. The bore had a very fine polished appearance also. Good Stuff

So I take it that it is the old Gold medallion or Rem Clean under a different label.
I used some of both, and they did an OK job on stubborn fouling.

Yes, it is the same stuff under a different name. I love it for removing copper fouling. I have found nothing that works as well for this purpose.
I just bought some and it feels to me like it is scratching my stainless cleaning rod. I sure hope it ok on the bore. Is this something you wouldnt want to use every cleaning? I did see some carbon on the patch. I would have almost bet that that barrel was carbon free?? Seems to be working well. Lee
