so i have been using cci's but was wondering if there
was anyone successfully shooting a 30 br with lt30 and fed's ?

in the heat of the ben avery range.

anyone ?

You'll just have to try and see. Chances are good that it won't make any difference.

The guy's that I know in SR score that have been using it have been using the 205m's. I'm sure regular 205's will work just as well if not better. Plus the fact is that over 90% of the shooters that I shoot against use 205m's in the first place.

What is the difference?

I believe that you are right! You win the prise!

That's why I said regular 205's will work just as good if not better than the higher priced M's. What's a prise Butch. Is that the way they spell prize in TX? LOL.

I've written this before but it seems pertinent....

Many moons ago, primers became scarce as hens teeth. My shootin' buddy Mark Luksic and myself were traveling to Fayette, AL to a match and we stopped in Jasper, AL to see if the gun store there had primers of any kind. Turns out they had a single case of Federal 205 primers and we bought it. Not only were they as good, they may have been better than the 205Ms. Before we shot them all up, primer availability returned to normal and I don't remember what Mark did but I switched to the 205Ms immediately. Don't know why!!!

I've compared countless loads over a 35P and most of the times the regular 205's had better numbers all around and the groups were usually a tad smaller in most cases. You went back to the 205's Wilbur because you programmed your mind that the higher priced primers that say match on them were suppose to be better. Put the word match on anything and automatically most people will pay more money for them. Most human's are like sheep.

a brick of 205M's and they were noticeably harder to seat in my BR cases than the last sleeve from a different brick and lot. Using my KM tool it took me two hands to seat them.

Wilbur, probably has to do with the if it costs more it has to be better" thing. I've used 205's for years and can't tell the difference between 205's and 205M's. Remember when a scope company came out with a question to benchrest shooters to see if they would be willing to pay around a thousand dollars for a scope that would hold point of impact? The price on scopes went from $400 to $1000 on up and they got the price part of it right. Still some doubt about scopes holding point of impact though. Then also scopes are quick to get the blame for the shooter missing a flag change. Afterall, it's easier to blame the equipment than us.

ok shot THREE shot development loads today.
3x-35.0-36 in 0.2 steps
then
35.8 at plus 4/6/8 thou..into lands 3x each
was going to do 36..but pulled a bullet and dumped powder so stopped.

best 6 groups is a .09433 ag..so it shoots with lt30 and fed primers
best were .074/.077/.069
will reshoot 5 shot groups of 35.4/36 at zero and 35.8 plus .004.

BUT
the range was not open till 9 and by then the wind was up,
not ideal to eval a load..i have very limited wind reading skills.
so great light bulb came on.
i talked to a local shooter, and have a plan for my next trip.
