preparing for new gun laws

So-called "Buy Back" programs are bad as they include an amnesty clause. None of the weapons sold or traded under this program are allowed to be checked to see if they have been involved in a crime. Murderers walk free because of this. I'll bet the two firearms stolen from me have been turned in and destroyed, never to be recovered. One of the stolen pistols was a Ruger Single Six that's been in the family for close to fifty years.

They are NOT "buy back" programs. Can't buy back what you never sold

 Boys I can't help but notice this thread. Here in Australia its next to impossible to own a semi automatic rifle of any type. Handguns ? well we have a ban on large calibers (45 and above) and owning and various govenments have had "buy backs" in a effort to reduce the number of firearms in the community. Of course this has done nothing to reduce the criminals using guns. You boys have a consitution that allows the private ownership of firearms, we don't, guard your rights well, otherwise you will end up like us.

Possible explanation for CA shipping problem

I recently bought a Weatherby (Paso Robles, CA) from my local CT dealer. It had a misfiring problem. The dealer said he could not ship it back to CA for repairs because in order to ship to CA the state required him to go thru a bunch of paperwork....even to return a rifle. However, an individual has no problem...so I shipped it myself with no problem. Seems like a stupid rule but it might explain why some ffl dealers won't ship to CA. BTW...Weatherby paid for it both ways so it wasn't because he was trying to save the shipping.

Your scenario explains a lot about the intention of the law. No common sense but used to keep any extra guns from coming into the state.

Bury Em.

Our business has occassion to ship high end machine parts all over the country and the world.
The steel parts are coated with rust preventative and then vacuum sealed.
I've got a nice stash buried in our north woods, down about 5 feet. I'm not sure how deep metal detectors reach but they're gonna' play hell finding 'em.
The Maryland State Police used to auction guns that were involved in a crime or otherwise confiscated, used to see some nice stuff. Now it all goes to the smelting plant at Bethlehem Steel.
Just think, the front bumper on your pick up might partially be from someones' cherished Model 19.
