Mike Davis shot a pending IBS Light record score at Peidmont Sat. 50 with a 0.941" group. He shot this in bad wind conditions. he must have found a hole in there somewhere. I was on the same relay with a 3.8", as most where 3's, 4's ,and 5's. Great shooting Mike.

Mike took the LG 1st group and Lg overall
Larry Isenhour took both HG gruop and score and a was HG overall.

Tommy will have all the results out soon.

Thanks fellows...

I know everyone likes to get the info of the equipment when some kind of record has been shot (I know I do)... So, here it is:

Rifle is a 6BRX no turn neck that I built myself w/
Bat Model B RB/LP/RE
BRUX HV 4 groove 8.4 twist @ 26" long
Leupold 45x Competition w/3x Gene Davis optical booster w/Bat rings
Cedar/curly maple/carbon fiber stock by Mike Isenhour
Jewel trigger
Berger 105vld coated w/Danzac
Varget powder
CCI 450 primer

It was a bad condition & I guess it was like Terry Brady said when I talked to him yesterday. The stars, the moon, the sun & the wind must have all just lined up right beacuse it was a rough day for shooting long range benchrest.

Thanks for all the kind words...

Mike

I know what the secret is! these guys practiced this winter at the Rock winter league. Good shooting guys and congrats, Steve

First, I must congratulate Mike for his new record. That was some good shooting in some bad wind. I watched him shoot it and he had the rounds on the target in less than 30 seconds. Seems that is the way to go when the wind is up...Good shooting, Mike.

You know, Steve might be right about that Winter league practice we got score shooting. It sure didn't hurt any and it was fun and helped get me through a long Winter.

It was good to see everyone at Piedmont. We had a good match and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Larry and Mike,
I would also like to congratulate you two on some fine shooting! I still can't believe ya'll shot that good in the wind we were having. It was about to blow the trees down at my house! Larry, a 2.345 agg. and 190 score is great on a blue bird day and unbelievably good on a windy day like we had Sat. You have us very worried with that little 6mm Grendle of yours! Please leave that thing at home when we go to Oak Ridge.
Mike, it is unreal you shot that small group and score Sat. Some days you can about count on a record being broken. I never thought Sat. would be one of those days!
Glad to see you back Mike!

Mike,

Again Congratulations on the pending record.
Did you see that chicken over at the club house lay the same egg three times?? I thought it would be futile to expect any decent scores or groups in that wind.

Welcome back Greg C.
Terry, since you weren't there I harrassed Mike and several others. I had fun even won a piece of wood. This "old blind hog" did find an acorn.

Thanks to our club members who ran the match so well.

Jim

Way to go Mike. Its fun to wonder what that group might have been in milder conditions. Jim, you've been working on your game since we last shot together. Quite a change from the deer rifle, MTM rest days. Nice shooting.
