Patch Out Bore Cleaner by Sharp Shootr

I am thinking of buying some Patch Out bore cleaner that is made by the same company that makes Wipe Out Foam Bore Cleaner. Anyone used the Patch Out Bore Cleaner?

I have been using Bore Tech Eliminator at the range for getting copper out of the barrel and Wipe out foam bore cleaner when I get home from the range. I like both products because there is no ammonia or other harsh chemicals in either and they don't stink. Thank You Norman :)

Norman,
I stopped using anything other than Wipe Out for all my rifles years ago. This includes my 30BR. This spring before the start of benchrest season, I decided to give Patch Out a try. It has replaced Wipe Out. I have used Patch Out w/ Accelerator on all my prairie dog rifles and after every VFS match. I use Danzac (WS2) and typically shoot 150+ during a 100/200 yard match. When I get home, I treat the Kreiger barrel with Accelerator and Patch Out. After a couple of hours, I run a few patches through it with a Patch Worm and finish with one patch of Lock Ease. The Kreiger has well past 4000 rounds through it and has not seen a rod, brush or anything other than WO or PO since it's break in.

It still shoots as good as it did new.

Greyfox: I have a Remington VLS rifle that I had re barreled with a Kreiger barrel and chambered for 22-250 AI. A tight chambering, .252 neck , .040 lead and 12 inch twist because I intend to shoot mostly 55 grain bullets. It has had less than 100 rounds through it. For break in I have cleaned the barrel after every shot with Bore Tech Eliminator and when I get home I clean the barrel with Wipe Out Foam Bore Cleaner. I don't shoot as much as you do and probably never will but I do want an accurate rifle. I did not know about WS2 Danzac until now. I did a little research on WS2 and it sounds good. I would like to get some before I go to the range again. Where can I buy it? I will order some patch out. I coat my bullets with Bullet Slick and lubricate the barrel with it after every cleaning. Do you know of anyone that uses Bullet Slick ? www.lubricationspecs.com While I am at it here: What have you heard about the quality of Truglo scopes? I cannot afford $500.00 to $1000.00 for a scope right now so I bought a 8-32x 44 truglo scope. Thanks Norman

I wanted to share this with you guys. I'm pretty anal about cleaning, I never shoot more than 25 rounds between cleaning. Now, what I thought was a clean barrel proved to be pretty dirty when I used the KG1. I always check the tube with a scope before and after a cleaning and am always pleased with the results but after cleaning what I thought was a clean tube with the KG1 the bore looks remarkably clean. Amazing sh** thanks for sharing that Al!

It's really hard to keep quiet about this stuff, ain't it? What really got to me about it, is how much faster it works than all of the also rans. For any shooter that wants to get a fast job of it between relays, this is the real deal.

If I was the guy that owned any of the top bore cleaners out there, I would fear the KG line of products.

The other thing I like about it. It makes you a real nice guy. Give away new bottles of quarts to your shooting buddies of the old stuff you don't use anymore.

This stuff works, like all the other stuff, wants to.

Patch Out is the best cleaner-copper remove I have ever used. It takes time and is not intended for cleaning while on the firing line. Much more controllable than Wipe Out. Patch Out is asolutely great stuff.:D

No doubt. Patch Out is great stuff too I've used it and it works great. I just never seen anything like I saw through my scope on a, before and after look. Montana 50 BMG is also excellent stuff. I didn't mean to insult another cleaner, hey if it works for ya, God bless ya!

I've used KG1 on some varmint barrels that were so nasty.... Bottom line, works well.

AVGorder gave me some KG1 to try and after the bore was clean using BBS, the KG1 patch came out black...definately some good stuff.

I wanted to share with you guys. Over the winter months I do some indoor shooting with my hand guns, 27 & 35 Glock and p220 Sig. The 35 is new so I started with that last weekend, after running a 100 rounds through it I disassembled it looked down the barrel and it was very very dirty. I started with 50 BMG, its what I use on my long guns so I figured I'd use it with my shorts. After several patches they came out clean never looking down the barrel I took for granted the barrel was clean. Back to the range 200+ rounds down the tube went home to clean it following the same procedure only this time I looked down the barrel after I was done and saw several carbon spots in the tube kinda looked like crud build up so I did it again, no change went to patch out with the accelerator several times with patches and brushes a little change. Sent some KG1 down followed by KG2 bore polish, spotless. When looking down the barrel now there are no bumps or imperfections. Perfectly smooth. If I had some JB or Flitz I would have tried them as well but that stuff is in VT and I'm in NY. I will follow the same routine when I have JB and Flitz with me just to see if they get the carbon out as well as the KG 1&2 did. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for sharing that Al.

Happy to do it!

When you bump up the picture sizes to above 100% and see how the bullets have been etched, it really becomes apparent, what works and the also rans.:D

Since I started shooting hand lapped Benchrest quality barrels, I have never needed anything stronger than BBS to do a good job on what little copper my barrels have in them after shooting. This has been confirmed by bore scope.

As to Patchout, it seems to have worked well on a friend's varmint rifle that had apparently suffered from inadequate cleaning. It is a .204 Ruger. I remember him saying that it was hard to believe the stuff that came out of that barrel, especially since he had thought that he had it clean, before he started.

I use to think

BBS and the like got all the copper out of my barrels until a friend gave me some Eliminator to try. While it works quite slowly, it will show one rather or not they have any copper when many of the others quit. This newer stuff looks good and I will probably bite the bullet and buy some.
