boosting a 36X

Tgtsniper -

Howdy !

If yours is a Leupold or Weavet 36X, you can simply order Gene Davis
optical booster ( 2X or 3X I believe ) for a nominal $100.00 even; shipped

For those that like 'em, its a comparatively in-expensive way for one to obtain higher magnification; w/o having to $$$ a "March". or a " Nightforce"

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Note: TARGET SCOPES from 6mmBR.com

Exit Pupil: Given objectives (front lens elements) of equal size, the more magnification the scope, the smaller the exit pupil. Remember that the exit pupil, a tiny circle of light, must deliver ALL the optical data your eye receives. Bigger is better by far.

Too small an exit pupil will make a good scope dim and hard to use.

That's why we advise against boosting the Weaver T-36 or the 36X Sightron.

With their respective 40mm and 42mm objectives, the exit pupil becomes too small when they are boosted beyond 36x.

.357 Mag and Zip ...

I tried one of Gene Davis's 3X Optical Boosters on my Weaver T36 scope before reading 6mmBR.com's caveat on booster performance for that particular scope. I saw a degradation in the sight picture and sent it back under Gene's buyer-friendly return policy.

Thanks Art.
I was at a Score Match in Oct. At WWCCA. 14 shooters. I was the only one without a booster.
Last week. Had the 4X booster. Over snow. Seemed real bright. Had trouble with the wind. It was coming over the roof. I am still learning. Got 5th out of 8. And it was 19 degrees.
Oct. 250/250-5X. For 3rd. No booster.
Makes one think.
