for years now when i get home from a match I take my barrel of my rifle...... the reason........ I just always thought all that weight on the end of a action that is just glued in a stock can not be good for the action/stock. I always pictures getting my rifle out to look at it and the barreled action has fallen out of the stock from the weight. surely it has to be some stress on it....... please tell me Im crazy...... but do it nicely :)

Scott,

IMO anything that stops you waking up at night in a cold sweat is good.

On the other hand, you might devise a method of storage that takes the weight of the barrel off the rifle.

John

PS: I have a friend with a Palma gun built on a sleeved Remmy that's been stuck into a McMillan stock for 25 years or more now.

I know a couple guys who drill holes in the wall to hang their rifles.....holes angled upwards that you poke the barrel in.

I know you made that post just to put me on the moon.....you don't really do that do you? How many are in on this?

Hell, you probably no crazier than people who clean primer pockets and polish the inside of case necks. There, was that nice enough?

Wilbur..........

I am not going to say you are crazy. But I certainly think you are going overboard.

Now if your name was Tony Boyer probably everybody would be doing the same thing by next week.

I'm not going to say that you're completely crazy. But I do feel that you may be overly enthusiastic for Cocoa Puffs

OK Scott, I may have an answer. For real.

Make a little wooden wedge, shucks use folded paper and prop it into the gap at the end of the forend to take the pressure off.

Voilah!! No money, blissful sleep and no side effects. ('Cept ya' already tole us ;) )

LOL
