Air Gun Shooters,
The January 26, 2013 match had an excellent turnout with fourteen air gunners. This was the fourth of six matches of this Fall/Winter Indoor Benchrest season at CCRP. The temperature indoor stated at 38 degrees and went up to 40 degrees. Cold on the fingers.
The Golden Cuspidor sat on Harvey Gertson’s bench during this match since he was the December 2012 winner with a 998-72x.
Harvey told everyone that JD was the one to beat as this match. JD responded that it was Harvey since he was the last match winner.
Overall the shooting was great. There were 4 shooters in the 990’s and 6 shooters in the 980’s. Six shooters shot a perfect 250 out of 250. Only Target 3 had no 250 scores.
The Match Winner was JD with a score of 998-68x (see, he was the one to beat). We thought JD was giving up a break since he came with a new custom stock on this EV2. However, we think JD added an auto-pilot to this stock. This is JD’s fifth in a row score of 998.
First Place PCP went to Mark Burns with a score of 994-67x. Second PCP went to Harry Rayment who shot a 993-57x and John Mickel took Third Place PCP with a 990-57x.
Jim Benson took 1st Place Springer with a score of 987-52x. Second Place Springer went to Harvey Gertson with a score of 986-55x and Third Place Springer went to Bill Quick with a score of 980-37x.
Walt Schumacher, Springer Class, shot his best score and “x” count to date of 977-39x. PCP shooter Rod Brown beat his first score of last month by four points with a 981-34x. Keep up the good shooting guys.

Shooters Equipment:
JD shot an AA EV2 (with new Mark Normandin stock) and AA 8.4 gr. pellets at 750 fps. Mark Burns used an Anschutz 8002 with Qiang Yuan 8.2 gr. pellets at 550 fps. Harry Rayment shot an Anschutz 2002 with Nygord pellets at 580 fps. John Mickel used a SM GC-2 with JSB Heavy pellets at 720 fps.
Jim Benson shot a FWB 300S using JSB 7.9 gr. pellets at 565 fps. Harvey Gertson shot a FWB 300 Tyrolean with Qiang Yuan 8.2 gr. pellets at 570 fps. Bill Quick shot a FWB 300 with Qiang Yuan pellets at 580 fps.
JD will be the holder of the Golden Cuspidor at the February 23, 2013 Match.
Big Thanks to John Mickel, Walt Schumacher, Mike Edwards, Mark Burns, JD and Bill Quick who scored the targets after the match. Thanks to JD for taking photos. Also thanks to the Shooters themselves for attending.
Harvey

Great Shooting All

)chill( I'm sure once the Heating System is up and running a 1000-70X is in the cards.

I don't know what target is used but some simple math shows that the top 3 scores of JD Dodge would have broken the existing indoor record and a 250-23X is flirting with perfection.

Great shooting guys. What distance are you shooting at now? Are you still shooting

at the 50' indoor range, or did you find another place to have fun? I hope I can get up there again soon. It's always fun to shoot with all you fun guys!

Wayne

Clarification

Yes, the distance is 50 FEET and it is on a smallbore indoor range.
We use the same target (see pictures) that we use outdoors at 50F, 25Y and 25M.
During the last four years I have established the BAR...........
I am the only one to shoot 1000 and my highest "X" count is 75 out of 1000/100X.
But notice that it takes "High 990s" to get to the podium and I am not alone.
It has almost become, "More than One 9 and your out"!
Trust me...........IT'S NOT EASY!!!!!!!!!
Wish we had a 25 yard/Meter indoors but we have what we have.
PLUS, remember we are shooting 8.4gr .177s@750FPS..............
THE SAME POWER that we use outdoors!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT 15gr .22s at 900FPS+..........................

50 feet - "Try it.....You'll Like it"!!
