The Salem Pistol and Rifle Club in Salem, NY will be hosting the 2nd annual NE Reg. Air Rifle BR Championship on Sat. June 29 and Sun. June 30. The range will be open for practice on Fri. 6/28 (and possibly earlier). On Sat. we will shoot a 3 target Light Varmint match in the AM followed by lunch and then a 3 target Heavy Varmint match in the afternoon. We'll shoot a 3 target Open class match on Sun. am, break for lunch and then we'll have some fun shooting a 50meter match open to any rifle up to .25 to round out the weekend.

All matches will be shot following WRABF and USARB rules. The 25m matches will be shot on the WRABF 25m target while the 50m match will be shot on the US equivalent of the WRABF 50m target, the RBA Rimfire BR target with a 10 ring measuring .20". Any rifle can shoot the LV and HV matches, but scores will be kept separately and trophies only awarded for the class of the match.

We had a great time last year, and hoping for more this year! We're still in the planning stages, more info to follow.

Todd, Rick, Fred, Pete,
Count me in for all three days. Will book a hotel for Fri and Sat night this week.
I had a blast last year.

Todd, put me down for the Friday & the Saturday. There’s no way I’ll get to go to the States on my own and I reckon two days at a competition is all I’ll be allowed.

Hope you’re going to have that smoker again this year :)

Hi Brian , Paul and anyone interested . I well be at the range on Fri. for practices shooting . I hope to see many friends there old and new . Rick

Todd,

Count me in. I had such a great time last year shooting just Saturday that I'm booking to shoot both days this time around. At least this year I know my wife won't be booking a hotel for us and the grandkids on Sunday night as we're both now retired and have no schedule to work around.

And I'm all for Tom coming back out if he's willing to drag his cooker that far again. Otherwise hamburgers, beans and franks, cold cuts or anything else will work too, but if it's B&F's nobody will want to be sitting down-wind from me during the afternoon session.

Thanks for doing what you do.

Dave

Here you go Dan,

We'll have plaques for the top three in each class and possibly the top 3 Aggs for the weekend (all 4 matches)
We have our regulars coming, plus a crew from Michigan and a shooter from NC hoping to make it and possibly Brian K. from England.

Have you mentioned the match to Tom to see if he'll cook for us again? I'm not sure if we'll be doing door prizes this year. I've been too busy trying to sort out paperwork (what a nightmare!) for my trip in Aug. to even think about them!
Todd

So far so good Todd, going to have to leave it until the last minute, but it’s still in the diary.

I know what you mean about the paperwork, stood 3hrs in Milan once waiting to collect rifles off the airport police. I think Plzen is a little better (only 2 ½ hrs :D )

Brian

Todd,

Sounds like the playground will be filled with a good group. I made my reservations yesterday (Sat. night only), so now I'm even more psyched than before.

Dave

25 days to go folks! The trophy order just went in, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place plaques for LV, HV, LV/HV combined agg, Open and the 50 Yard (or Meters, depending on how brave we feel after 9 targets in the infamous Salem Swirl) Challenge. It looks like we'll have the usual gang from the North East and we've had interest from MI, NC and England. We've got plenty of room for more shooters, too. Please feel free to contact me by phone at 518-796-0768, e-mail TKBanks98@aol.com or look me up on Facebook.
Looking forward to another great weekend!

Spare Guns

Todd asked me to bring a spare gun or two for loaners. I will have a AA EV-2 for LV class and an STEYR LG 110 for HV class that will share Todd's spare Weaver T-36. The problem I don't have a spare front rest. If anyone can bring a spare rest for a loaner that would be great! On Sunday I will have a one piece rest for a loaner.
See you this weekend.

Paul

Paul,
Steve Brookhouse is bringing his rests and flags but doesn't have guns, so we should be all set!

I talked to Rick this evening, he will be at the range at around noon on Friday but he will need some help setting up the target stands. I'll get there as early as possible but that might not be till 5 or so.

Looking forward to this weekend!

We plan to be there early

We are going to do a short tour of the Roosevelt stuff Thursday and be in Salem by md-day Friday, at least. I am going to offer my EV2 for sale if anyone is interested. It seems to be a good one.
