New Classifieds

I know there are some pains in changing over to a new system, but what happened to all the classifieds for actions? All the Bruno ads are gone?
 
In addition to adds missing it is damn hard to get on. Tried several times to post a add in the classifieds..finally gave up and put in on 6br. four times to even recognize my password.

I can't even get in, even went to lost password, got back on an still no luck! So i guess i'll just look around here an do my classifeds on another forum
 
I Hate the new classifides.Put the old one back.This was my favorite place I look once in a while but I have move on.Tired of trying to sign in every time even though you are alresdy signed in to the forum.
 
Before the classifieds changed, I enjoyed quickly scanning thru the ads each day. Took just a few seconds. The new format makes it impossible to do this. Now, I need to pick and choose the category I want. Its the pits.
 
I dont know this but i am assuming that the reason Bruno isn't listing all his actions is because it cost money to do so. same with russ I do understand that this site takes a lot of work to keep going and i dont see it as unfair that the classifieds cost money now. However i do think there is another option to help fund this site. On 6mm br they have the option to donate x amount of money to the site to help cover the cost. They recognise you for doing so under your sign name. I dont have any idea how much it takes to keep the site going, and i dont know if 6mm br is having any success with there donation option. It does seem to be a good idea though. I donate 20 bucks about every 3-6 months and i assume others do the same. like i said i dont know if thats a good idea or not for here, but when you have to figure in advertising cost into your listing it takes a little away from the deal or possable bargain/ I dont mind the new classifieds and havent had any trouble, and i personally dont mind the fees, simply because i enjoy the people here and i respect the amount of work that involved to keep this site going. the donation thing is just another idea that seems to work over on 6 br. PS I know im terrible with words. Instead of going to English class, i went to the dove fields on most days, or the river! LOL!! It seems to work over there though.
 
I agree with tenring's post - I have pretty much quit looking at the classifieds.

The older format was much more user friendlier, I struggle to even bring myself to look at the ads on the new format.

Lee, I don't think it was ever about the money. The small fee charged to run an ad was never a problem for me. I think the main complaint is the difficulty in format or accessing the new classifieds vs. the old classified style.

you could be right, i really wouldnt know, just pure speculation. Change is difficult at first in most cases. In two years from now it will be normal again. LOL!! I dont like change either all that much, However i think it is great that the folks that run this site care enough about it to try and make it better. I personally liked the old format better myself, i must say. Lee
 
I talked to Bruno a couple of weeks ago and asked him about his adds. He said he was at the supershoot, and then the ATF was crawling up his whowho for a couple of weeks after that. During that time it was out with the old and in with the new and all of his adds went away.. He just has not had the time to re-list everything yet.

I seem to recall Wilbur stating it was a security issue , unfortunately the internet is full of people trying to take advantage of other people. Just look at the forums, without the people Wilbur has given a limited amount of power to delete threads it would be one big Spam Fest, as it is if a spammer posts an ad and it only lasts a couple of hours before it is gone it tends to make the spammers move on to other places. Classifieds is another issue and other problems are involved. mostly (I imagine) relating to personal information being involved. I personally liked the old classifieds better myself but I think they are gone and we will need to adapt to the new format as it is probably here to stay .

I am sure Wilbur did not make the change because he wanted to but rather because he felt he had to.
