I am currently working on a 284win for 1000 match. when it's done I am thinking of building a second rifle but chambering it in 7mm 300 weatherby Improved. I am thinking I can get some velocities around 3400 with a 168grain VLD or maybe even more. Anyone have any exsperience with this cartraige? just looking for info.

no but why a lite bullet ? why not the 180 ?

Haven't ruled it out. I have some 162 amax's to play with 168VLD's 175XLD's that is what I have in the bullet collection to play with. I may buy some 180's unless something else just stands out to be to good to change.
