Need 17 Rem. loading information

Hi Group:

I began shooting my new .17 Rem today with H 414 but it appeared to be too dirty!

Any body have some pet loads for this round?

I kinda like IMR 4895 in my rifle.

Rem 17 Loads

Here are the three loads I use in my Sako 17.

Remington case, 22.0 gn 2208, PMC primer, Hornady 20 V-Max
Remington case, 22.0 gn 2208, PMC primer, Hornady 25 V-Max
Remington case, 21.5 gn BM, Rem 71/2, Remington 25 HP

Try VARGET, per Hodgdon's site. Hard to beat Berger Bullets.

FWIW, in working with a handfull of .17s, I've found that they are more sensitive to bullet selection than they are to powder choices.

I tried all of the above

and ended up using Hodgdon Benchmark. The results have been amazing both for velocity (over 4100 fps w/25 gr. HP) and accuracy. BR4 primer.

I always had good with Varget and 25 Hornady HPs in my 17 Rem.
